For a while we swore at the gas masks. We swear by them now. You have heard of the Bible in the pocket saving a man's life? I saw a man in the woods gassed to death - gas mask in one hand, Bible in the other. If he had not been so religious, he would have had both hands for the gas-mask and wouldn't have needed the Bible.
