Comparing A Facelift To Facial Exercise

Comparing A Facelift with Facial Exercise

Cosmetic Surgery has been used by Hollywood and the rich for many years with mixed reviews. However, with the sole exception of Chers doctor, whoever he is, I have not been impressed. Since the introduction of the popularity of facial exercise programs, many plastic surgeons are looking for new and better ways to make faces look younger and more toned. They are slowiy getting away from the clip and cut philosophy. Cutting the skin and pulling it tighter along the face. This in many cases is rather like pulling a blanket tightly over a bed, creating the shrunken head effect.

The bone structure of the face is a poor surface to support he skin, if all you are doing removing lose skin. I recently saw a program where they are putting surfaces under the skin which make a man look like he has a muscle structure under the skin, making the appearance of what is called a six pack. I also saw where the same thing was done to the chin area. Cosmetic surgeons are catching on that giving the fullness of youth is more acceptable than just nip and tuck. However, many of these procedures come with a price. I get letters all the time from individuals who have used cosmetic surgery. The most common compliant is that the surgery removed fatty deposits, tightened the skin, but the removal of the fat made the skin sag more. This is due to the removal of a substance that supported the skin.

The last letter I received was from a woman who used the botox treatment, and for some reason it migrated to other areas of the face and her skin lost all its firmness. I am not a believer in plastic surgery. However, if you are considering it, make sure you know other clients who have used the surgeons services. It breaks my heart when I get letters from individuals who have had negative reports of such services.

More Is Not Always Better

Understanding facial exercise. Many of the facial exercise programs expect you to do the program every day. The plan may include 35 exercises or more. However, the large amount of resistance exercises, which involve simply movement often exhaust the user, and cause them to give up. No exercise program will work if you don't do it.

Resistance exercise can in some cases thin the face and create a hollow look, the muscle tone that give the face the healthy, youthful look is gone, and the cheeks are hollow. The program begins to work like a weight loss plan rather than a muscle building plan, and the effects are a gaunt appearance.

Plastic surgery often has the same effect. The basic muscle tone of the face is not improved, but skin is tightened around the skull, and the face become thinner. The wrinkles may be pulled tight, but the muscles still are losing basic tone and flexibility. Repeated facelifts can make the wrinkles appear less visible, however, the face still appears thinner with each surgery. For that reason, I recommend that you try facial exercise first. Building the muscles of the face, which is the foundation of the skin.

Isometrics make you muscles work and build strength. I use isometrics in my program. The isometrics engage several muscle groups in the face at the same time and greatly reduce the time needed to build the muscles of the face.

I looked at another program and I was amazed that the clients where expected to roll their eyes in circular fashion looking around the room, and other odd exercises. The exercise required the movement of muscles, but it was simply movement, which can thin the face and reduce muscle tone much the same way as stretch exercises can.

I began developing my program in 1990, however, and I was always amazed that other programs had not gained popularity as readily. However, I have found there is an explaination for this and it rests with the complexity of the programs available.
