Give this to Gillian, who is usually in the Heliopolis branch of the Damaran Temple. Note: If you are a Damaran, there is a spell inscribed in the treatise, shroud of voidance. It is basically an "anchor" spell, which will prevent you from being teleported/summoned or otherwise moved against your will by magical means. It requires a pewter cube as a spell component, and an Amulet of Damara as a spell focus. A pewter cube can be metalcast in any foundry with a pewter ingot (metalcast pewter cube).

It is a requirement to complete this quest before you can successfully cast tongues. *Damaran Extra Life Quest-
I have not actually done this quest, but I know of it, and attempted it several times. All you have to do is be of a neutral alignment (less evil than downright wicked, and less good than extremely beneficient) and donate a certain amount of platinum coins to the Altar of Damara in the Heliopolis temple (which is n of the foyer). I have tried donating amounts up to 35 platinum coins, with no effect (ie it says thank you for your faith, but you don't have enough money to gain an extra life). Note that you don't get your money back once you've donated it, unless you have donated too much - one templer I know oftried to donate 80 plat, however apparently Damara did not accept this. If you manage to do the quest, please mail me, or otherwise inform me.
-=Kalak=-
*Bloodletter - Destroyed a life to gain a life (10)
This is the evil extra life quest. To successfully complete it you must be at least of downright wicked alignment. You need the dagger that the light guardian wields in the Cymocian Temple in helio, a red incense, and a pussycat, usually found in the Damaran Temple. Go to the Altar in the Kalakian Temple, wield the dagger, light the incense, and 'sacrifice cat'. Note: You need worship.rituals.sacrifice to at least 25 to be able to sacrifice the pussycat.
The Dark Lord's Devotee - Found a secret room and cast a secret spell(2)
Simply go to the Vile Vials Shoppe in the Kalakian Temple, buy an orange incense and a cyclops' eye, then go to the pentagram in the labyrinth under the graveyard. Type 'study book', wait until it prompts you to, then 'memorize spell', once it says you are ready, have the incense and eye in your open inventory, light the incense and type 'recite spell'. The spell summons a special golem from the fires of the Abyss itself. When you finish the spell, simply 'say teach me a new spell' and the golem will teach you the spell earthen swallow. (earthen swallow, when cast, will make the earth swallow any items in a room)
*-=Mansion Quests=-*
All these quests take place in the mansion in Heliopolis. To get to the mansion, it is (from CK) 6e,n,climb gates,n. All of these quests start there. You will need roughly a 100 bonus in searching and climbing to get into the mansion. Upon completion of all these quests, you get a whopping 30 qp.
Confused burglar - Broke into a place where few people have been for a long time (10)
This is the quest that gets you started. From the starting point, 'climb lattice' to get into one of the bedrooms. You'll notice that the only door is locked. To get the key, 'stare mirror'. This will make you jump out of the nearest window, beside a now decrepit pond. 'search pool' to find the brass key for the door. Note: this is the only way into the mansion. Go w, then n, then 'climb lattice' again to get back to the bedroom, unlock the west door, and go through to complete the quest.
Stylish dancer - Did a Fred or a Ginger, but in private (5)
Very simple quest. Go to the sw bedroom, and get the dancing shoes from the wardrobe. Now go to the landing, 'drop all except shoes', then go down to the ballroom, and 'dance'.
Created a pile of bones - Told someone something he should have been told about a long time ago (1)
Apart from having the longest quest title in the entire game, it is also one of the easiest. This quest also gives you the code numbers to unlock the strongbox in the study. Simply go to the butler, and 'say sir effed is dead', at which the butler will take himself to pieces. Note: the code given is only give to you once, a good idea is to save it in an alias such as 'alias strongboxcode say Right ## Left ## Right ##' because it may come in use later, especially if you lose something from the strongbox or need to go back to it.
Hero Worshipper - Payed venerable respects to a long gone hero (15)
This is the main quest in the mansion, and is probably the best rewarded quest in the entire game. Using the combination you got from the "created a pile of bones" quest, go to the strongbox in the study. Type 'turn dial' and then enter in the combination. If you've done it right it should be able to 'open strongbox' and 'get all from strongbox'. You should get some papers and a ring. 'read papers', once you've done that you no longer need them. MAKE SURE YOU WEAR THE RING. It is vitally important later on. Now go to the kitchen, and 'search cupboard' to get the kitchen knife. Go back to where the main staircase is, and 'search panel'. Your reading of the mansions plans should show you a secret panel. Go 'panel', and you'll end up in a little cubby hole. Go s, and the handle on the door should break. This is where the kitchen knife comes in handy. 'trigger latch with knife', then go south. From there, go passage, d, d, s, push door, s. This will bring you to the Funeral Chamber of Sir Effed. All you need to do now is pay respects to the great adventurer himself, by 'approach casket' and then 'pay respects'. Finally, 'drink from cup' and you will be given a permanent +1 to any stat you choose. Good reward!

A simple quest. Grab the book from the cabinet in the study, buy a library pass from the Mundane Shop in the Academy Square, and take the book to the librarian in the Academy library.

These take place in the farm west of helio, they require little or no skill at all.
Birdfeeder - Saved animals from starvation (1)
Simple quest. Go to the pantry, and 'search shelves' for the bit of crusty old bread. Go back to the Duck Pond and 'feed ducks'.
Horse Friend - Gave a horse a tasty treat. (1)
This requires you to have a minimum climbing and searching skill of about 10 or 20. Go to the apple tree, go up it, and 'shake branch'. This will make the apple fall down. Go back down, and 'search leaves' to get the apple. Now take the apple to the horse just n of the main yard and 'feed apple to horse' for the quest points.
*-=Orphanage Quests=-*
These all take place in the orphanage north of where you start, on diamond street. These are newbie quests, low xp, but very easy.
Bug hunter - Practiced enough to swat monsters (1)
This should be the very first quest you do as a new player on New Moon. Start by getting the broom from the Dormitory. Wield the broom, then search the bed, and a spider will appear. 'swat spider' to kill it. Next, go down to the Dining Room, where there should be a fly. 'swat fly' to kill this one. Next go to the garden, and 'search hive' to bring out a bee. 'swat bee' to finish the quest.
Crack Shot - Practiced a game of skill until expert (2)
A very simple, but very boring little quest, in the form of a marble game. There is usually a orphan who sits in the garden. 'say play marbles' to start a game of marbles with him. type 'roll' when prompted, and depending on your skill in combat.offence.projectile, you'll either win or lose. If you win, you get 3 marbles. Win 10 times (not necessarily in a row) and the quest is yours. (The quest title comes from what the orphan tells you you are after each match, after you win the last match he'll describe you as a crack shot =) Note: If you know how to use triggers, its a lot easier to set up a couple of triggers to automate the process, then just leave it for a while, or watch it.
Benevolant patron - Gave generously to the weak and needy (1)
Perhaps the simplest quest on New Moon. In the main hall of the Orphanage, donate about 1-2 platinum coins worth. ('donate x coins')
*-=Emote&Emoteto=-*
These quests give you two important commands, emote and emoteto.
Emote is easy, while emoteto requires lots of skills.
Expressor of Feelings - Bribed an official to become more expressive(5)
This quest allows you to use emote (or : in its shortened form). Go to the hidden den in the park, and 'dig'. You'll find an old whiskey bottle. Give this to the official of expression.
Ambassador's Aide - Saved an Ambassador from certain death (10)
This is the first part of the emoteto quest, which has the honourable title of The Quest With The Least Amount of Hints. How anybody figured this quest out is beyond me. Start by going to Ogrek the Beheader's Lair, and 'search leaves' to get Qyntas' scroll (with paralyzation inscribed on it, which you can learn, but cannot use anymore). Now you need to go and give this scroll back to Qyntas, who just happens to be as far into the deep swamp as he can be. I cannot provide exact directions there *yet* but I will later. Suffice it to say Qyntas is in the sw corner of the swamp, and that it is a *long* way from Heliopolis. You'll know when you are there when you see a stump that you can climb onto, and jump down from. Note: make sure you are hogged up to the eyeballs before walking into the swamp. Once you've found Qyntas, give him the scroll, and he'll give you the skeleton key. Go outside, and the witch guarding the tree will let you past to 'climb tree'. 'climb up' a couple more times, and you'll beoutside the Ambassador's cage. Unlock it with the skeleton key, and go north. After going on about saving you for a bit, he will give you a golden wristband. DO NOT LOSE THIS. Thats it for this part of the emoteto quest =)
Expert Expressor of Feelings - Became an expert at expressing feelings towards others (15)
And now to the second part of the emoteto quest! Now that you have the golden wristband (you DO have it don't you?) First, get your bum back to Helio. Now, go to the museum. Find the earthquake detector, and 'activate earthquake detector'. Now RUN for it to the markets, and probably Mechtilds Veggie stall. After a while you'll get a message that the detector has detected an earthquake. Have a quick look around the markets, and one of the rooms there will now have an extra exit 'crack'. It is usually at Mechtilds Veggie Stall, or the Northwest Entrance. Once you've found it, go there (ie type 'crack' ... duh!). Go about 15w until you can't go west any further, and type 'dig hole'. Give the wristband to Malia, and she will give you a vase. Type 'lift bar' and go south, which will put you back in the museum. Make your way back to the Official of Expressian in the Town Hall, and give him the vase for the Quest Points, Experience, and usage of emoteto. *pant pant*

Now simply 'bake rainbow cake' and the quest is done.
Expert Chef - Followed a recipe under guidance (8)
This quest is a little more complicated. Go talk to Old Mrs. Pottage in the Townhouse on Diamond Street. Ask her about her soup, and she'll give you a big list of crap you have to find. Mrs. Pottage will instruct you on how to make the soup. Here's a quick rundown of what you have to do. Why don't you go and find an apron - 'search shelves' cleaver - 'search table' prepare the vegetables - chop carrots, onion, leeks, chives (note: you have to do each one separately, ie type 'chop carrot' four times, 'chop onion' once, 'chop leek' twice etc) chop the meat into cubes -'chop steak' brown them in the cauldron - 'brown steak' add chopped vegetables and cook until soft - 'add vegetables' (note: to do this you need to have ALL the chopped vegetables in your open inventory, and the cooking&baking bonus mentioned before) Clean the mushrooms and break into pieces - 'clean mushroom' (for each mushroom) and add to the mixture - 'add mushroom pieces' Then add the stock - 'add stock' stir in the cream- 'add cream' sprinkle with chopped chives - 'sprinkle chives on soup' serve it up - 'serve soup' (note: needs aforementioned bonus in cooking&baking)

-*-*Cloak of Mist*-*-
It would seem Dodder Arrowroot has lost some bowstrings! Its up to you to find them. This quest requires a relatively high skill in climbing (bonus about 100). Start by getting the key for the storeroom. Unfortunately, it happens to be stuck on the gutter of the roof of the rangerbase. That means you should be hogged for this particular, and hogged up good. Go up to the roof, and upon searching the gutter you'll notice the key there. To get to it, 'climb down roof', get the key (you might have to search, not sure, its been a while) and then 'climb up' or 'climb up roof'. Now go to the storeroom, grab the bowstrings, and take them back to Arrowroot. Note: If you successfully do the quest, you'll get the cloak of mist, which raises your bonus in covert.stealth, and also happens to be the best cloak in the game (as it never gets damaged)

Enter the squares there and walk around the immediate area to find the mayor give the ledge to him.
All these take place in Herbrotion, north of Leviatha.
In Herbrotion, go south somewhere and find a hammer in an abandoned building. Talk to zanbar (i think) and then the mayor, and find a chisel behind the mayor's building. Go to marble slab in north end of town, incribe z's name. Gives xp.
These take place in the area commonly refered to as Xu'an. This is east of tsan. You will need to climb down the crevace, and head up a rope to get to the dragonspire mountains, from which you head northeast through rockslide territory to get to a cliff. Then head up, and get to the locked gate of Xu'an.
First, learn xuanese from the person at the harbormasters office. Then head to xuan. Talk to the troll wise man (say key) and you will learn that he sold his key to a dwarf by the name of Collin the Rogue. Collin is located on the west side of Herbrotion. All these quests reward you with an item of some sort. These may
be repeated elsewhere in the list, but they are here because they give an item.
Hide and seeker - Found a way to hide for protection (5)
Get ge.kn.creatures bonus to 150+. Go to Xuan and make sure you speak xuanese. Talk to the tailor (say either help or hide) and he will offer to give you some help for 50 platinum coins. Type yes and he will teach you how to carve a skin from the corpse of a giant lizard. He will also give you a special knife. Go to a cave and kill a lizard there (must be a cave or else the corpse will fall off the mountain). 'carve corpse' and take the skin to the troll magician. Say either help or hide to him, and he will offer to enchant the hide for 60 platinum coins. Type yes and he will take your hide and return an enchanted hide. Finally, go to the armourer, and say the same thing to him. He will offer to take your enchanted hide and smith it into armour for 70 platinum coins. Type yes and you have the enchanted hide armour. (note, this armour is magical. It weighs as much as light laminated, but in combat, performs inbetween sacred armour and dragonscale armour).
Favored Friend - Found security by doing a favor (3)
Go to the swamps south of helio and go to the west side. There will be a northwest exit. Go that way until you get to a house. A man named Baldwin inside will help you. Say help and then say favor to him and he will ask you to get him something from the Heliopolis markets. Wait until daytime, get it, and give it to him. He will then offer to make you an amulet of nul for 30 platinum coins.
This quest is a two-parter, part 1 is boring, part 2 gives the items.
You must do part 1 to do part 2. A searching bonus of over 150 is required for these quests.
Part 1:Treetender - Looked after an old warrior's hobby (4)
Head to Moshuri Geri's house east of Tsan. Go to his room, and, speaking tsanese, 'say sword'. He will tell you to prune his plants. Go downstairs and into the meditation room. Read the writings there, and you will learn how to meditate. Next, 'meditate' and you will discover a paper key. Go west and north, and unlock the east door with the key. Get the shears by searching the corner, and head to the plants. ge.cr.ar bonus must be >100-150, and 'prune trees' When you're done, go back to Geri and tell him. He will tell you to get his sword from the basement (hidden room in the plants, 'search plants').
When you arrive downstairs, the guard is beaten up and the sword has been stolen. Ask him about the sword and he will tell you of a hidden path in the garden('search garden' outside the house). Now comes the hard part. Get a healer to come with you on this one. On the first floor there are several rooms with dead-ends. In each dead-end, 'ex corner'. If you are in the right room, the description will be about something suspicious in the corner. If you get that, 'search mushrooms' and 'enter circle' for a key. Next, on the first floor, there is a 3X3 grid (9 rooms) that you have to locate. In the center of that grid is a chest, unlock it with the key for the pure energy ring. Finally, head down to the third floor and go east. Make sure you are wearing the energy ring and 'get sword'. Now leave the maze, go back to Geri and give him the sword, he will introduce it to it's new owner, you! The sword has special commands, at the time of writing this, they are not in the game, but they are the colored text when you look at it.
A Bane to Bandits - Unearthed bounty buried by bandits (2)
Head to the glade east of the rangerbase with a shovel. You may need a HoG for this quest, or have the ability to kill badgers. 'search hole' and kill the badgers that appear. Next, hold the shovel and 'dig burrow'. If badgers come out, kill them too. Keep digging until you get the Boots of the Glade, not only the best boots in the game, but they increase your sneaking and stalking bonus by 20!
Fletchers Friend - Found a long lost key (10)
Crypt scavenger - Discovered an ancient crypt and stole a sacred item (10)
Now that you've learnt mine, its time to go put it to some good use. Grab your trusty pickaxe, and go mine a yellow gem from the gemstone pit in the mines. Take this to the entrance to the crypt in the labyrinth, and 'put gem in red hole' (there are 3 holes, this should open the door, if not, then its one of the other two - blue and green I think). Go south and 'lift lid on crypt' for the Sacred armour. BE WARNED: the sacred armour is VERY heavy, so if you do not have much strength (like 15 and under) make sure you are psyched and/or have a holy power and /or have just drunk a strength-enhancing potion) Obviously you get the sacred armour out of this. It is THE best armour in the game, 99% of thieves will not be able to steal it from you, and it NEVER gets damaged.
