Emptiness

Gazing into her eyes,
Only a glazed reflection of the skies,
Something has died,
Leaving a ghost,
To fill the host,
Who has lost what she needs most,
Whose shell is now torn,
From self-inflicted damage done that morn,
And the days and weeks before,
Holding her like a china doll,
For if released would fall,
And shatter on the ground helpless in her thrall,
Of the sickness she suffers,

Or does she?

She no longer feels,
Nothing is real,
Too far gone to heal,
But a hand appears to her,
And a face, it seems familiar,
It belongs to her lover,
And with a touch and a smile,
And an embrace for a long while,
They have both passed the trial,
And the glaze is gone, the void is filled,
It's time for them both to be thrilled
Time for their dreams to be fulfilled.
