If looks could kill... you wouldn't last five minutes

Suds... studs.. more suds and lots of sex await -- Billed as this fall's "guiltiest pleasure," "Titans" revives the primetime soaps made popular in the '80s. From the producer of such cult (and commercial) classics as "Charlie's Angels," "Melrose Place," "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Dynasty" (the latter being what "Titans" is being compared to), Aaron Spelling has done it again. Set in Beverly Hills with the rich and famous, the show is swarming with beautiful people. Former "Dallas" beauty and current infomercial queen Victoria Principal leads the all-star cast as Gwen Williams and does what she knows best -- stir up trouble and meddle into other people's lives. Her ex-husband Richard Williams (Perry King) lives in the mansion across the street and is about to marry the scheming, backstabbing Heather (Yasmine Bleeth), who incidentally slept with her future stepson Chandler (Casper Van Dien). In only a storyline Spelling could get away with, Heather drops a major bombshell during her wedding ceremony to Richard as she's being escorted down the aisle by Chandler -- a major plot twist that is reminiscent of daytime soap operas.

Ex-daytime soap veterans and "General Hospital" alumni, Jack Wagner and Ingo Rademacher, help raise the male sex appeal through the roof. Wagner stars as Jack Williams -- brother to Richard -- who arrives at an inconvenient time. Rademacher is David O'Conner, the manager of the night club "Titans" matriarch Gwen owns and runs with the assistance of her two daughters Jenny (Elizabeth Bogush) and Laurie (Josie Davis -- no longer needing "Charles In Charge" of her). Also joining the ever-growing (though it doesn't really need to be) cast are Lourdes Benedicto ("NYPD Blue"), Jason George ("Sunset Beach") and John Barrowman. And for all those teenage girls that might be tuning into the show, Kevin Zegers will join the cast after the first couple of episodes. Let's hope "Titans" isn't using "Passions" as a role model and that it'll actually give each cast member on the series a resolved storyline before the show ends.

If you're still bummed about the loss of "90210" this season, flip your remote to NBC and "Titans" may just be the show to fill that void Kelly, Dylan, Brandon and the rest of the 'Peach Pit' gang left inside you. Or if you swore you'd never watch television again after FOX canceled "Melrose Place," "Titans" will become your must-see-camp on Wednesday nights. You'll laugh out loud at the cheesy lines uttered by the characters and you'll feel sympathy for the Williams' sisters as they deal with their new stepmom without trying to replace their own mother.
