We like Titans.
NBC Wednesdays, 8 p.m.-9 p.m. Premiere date: Oct. 4 Cast: Casper Van Dien, Yasmine Bleeth, Victoria Principal, Perry King, Josie Davis, John Barrowman, Elizabeth Bogush Concept:: A prodigal son with a heart of gold returns home (to his mother's mansion on one side of the street and his father's on the other) just in time for dad's wedding. Wealth, power, sex, lies, total family dysfunction it's Dynasty in the 90210 area code. Critique: If you like your prime-time pretty and trashy, this is the stuff of inexplicable soap addiction. Producer Aaron Spelling's latest is pure gloss, all eye candy and outrageously cheap shots, with none of his previous nods at social consciousness or ostensibly wholesome underpinnings. The central contrivances are so ridiculous that they could only go over in a show in which suspension of disbelief is not an issue: Victoria Principal (a pussycat with her claws barely retracted) and Perry King are a filthily rich divorced couple residing in his and hers mansions across the street from each other, and the entire family mom, dad, four grown kids of more-than-dubious morals works for the vague and all-encompassing family business. Yasmine Bleeth of Baywatch fame is the pivotal wicked woman, and she gives every indication of being up to the deliciously hateful task. Yes, yes, we know it goes against your better judgment. But come on, you've missed Melrose. Here's your fix.
