Combo Lock

Home/Script Archive/Passwords/Combo Lock

Combo Lock

Credits: TheHTMLSource.com

Description: This will create a "combo lock" where you must type in a different code each time.

Demo:

Here's How the Combination Lock Works:

The combination is a pattern rather than a fixed, unchanging password. So only you and anyone you tell will know the pattern to access your password protected area of your site. The letters to be typed change every time the screen is loaded. (Hit your Reload button to verify this) For this example, the pattern is a "T". But it can be set to any "pattern" you wish. The combination can be seen as 12358 (in that order) in the table below:

Pattern for Combination
Above Shown in Red
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9

Caution: This will not work on Win3.x machines at present.

Directions

Step 1: Insert the following code into the <head> section of your page:

Step 2: Insert the following code into the <body> section of your page where you would like the Combo Lock to appear:

Configuring the menu

Theres a few things you'll probly want to change on this menu to suite the needs of your site:

1. Change the name of the lock menu, for example the name of the lock menu on this page it "TheHTMLSource.com, Combination Lock, (Combination changes every time)" To change this to something else, you're going to need to edit part of code from Step 1, On line "29", you'll see an area of the code that say's "NAME OF LOCK GOES HERE", change that text to anything you want. Or you can erase it (Just the text part) and you won't have no title.

2. Now your going to want to change the Address's of the page's that you go to if you have the Right or Wrong Combonation's, you do this in Step 1 also. Towards the bottom of the script you'll see 2 Alert's, one that says "I'm sorry. That one's incorrect, too. You're outa here" and one that say's "That is the correct password. Click OK to proceed to..." The first one is the alert that pop's up after you type the Wrong combonation in 3 times in a row, then it sends you to the Address listed underneth this alert "Http://www.INCORECT PAGE.com" Change this Address to whatever you want. Now you can change the Alert if you type in the Right Combonation, to whatever you want, then change the Address under the alert (Http://www.CORRECT PAGE.com") to the page your tring to Password Protect:

And That's That Enjoy!
