Artist Bio
Sara Sames - Handmade designer chocolates, color photography
Ms. Sames was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 24, 1979, the second child in a family of four. When she was three years old her father and mother divorced, which it seems, was one of the best things to happen to her in regard to her art. She lived with her father who encouraged she and her brother to make their own decisions and she decided to pursue art. She experimented with different media and techniques exploring the arts and she became entranced by them. She remembers staring at paintings for hours and exploring every brush stroke and detail. She engrossed herself even deeper into art in order to realize her potential. Nothing captivated her as photography did. She loved creating images using her excellent eye for composition and combining this with training and passion learned everything she could.
"One of photography's most wonderful aspects is that you can never stop learning something new about it. I am still learning many things and the more I experiment, the fonder I grow of photography."
Ms. Sames recently won the Grand Prize for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Photo Competition in Albuquerque, New Mexico which sent she and her husband John on a trip to Hawaii. She and John were married October 11, 1998 in the picturesque gazebo in Old Town, Albuquerque.
