Kim Wygant didn't have much of a choice about becoming an artist because almost all of her family members are artists covering several disciplines. Kim has taken her art form to new high. She loves to prowl the local New Mexico antique and collectible furniture shops looking for unique pieces of furniture that strike a chord with her. She gets a feel for the piece and then sets to work, painting the furniture using her large palette of Southwest colors, embellishing as she goes, highlighting the delightful aspects and bringing out the character of each piece. If there is a call for fabric covering or cushions, she sets about with her fabric paints and creates wonderful Southwest designs on the fabrics bringing the sometimes lackluster piece to vibrant unique life embuing some of her own unique character into the whole. She creates art in an unexpected form with exciting results.
