Title: "Dog Days from the Membres" 22"h x 26"w
Art has always been my favorite word. I never wanted to be anything but an artist, although as a child growing up, I really had no exposure to art except in grade school and thank heaven for that. I studied art in college and after that every time I could find a teacher, I'd sign up for a class. I've worked in clay, oil, water color, pastel, charcoal, collage, assemblage, and mosaic. I like to draw and paint the figure from life. I like to do still life and landscape. I like to experiment and work in as many ways as possible. A piece I have displayed in the Art Alley Project is mosaic from a figuarative design I have been working with for a while. The enigmatic form is whatever the viewer wants it to be. I think of holograms, yin yang, interactive duality and regenerative fun. (So much for what the artist has to say.)
I have lived on both coasts of the United States and in the Southwest now for 23 years, and right here in Mountainair since 1991. This place is very special and I am very glad to be here.
