I stood there waiting for my dad to come pick me up. Finally when he came and got me I couldn’t wait till we got home. Today me and my uncle were going for a walk in the woods. I always loved those walks through the woods with him. Soon he came to the house and we started walking. He asked me how was school. I said fine. He then asked me if anything was happening. I told him about a club that most of the people in the school had joined. I told him that it was called The Sharing and that I had been offered to come to one of the meetings. When I had said The Sharing my uncle turned to me and said, "What was the name of the group?" I said, "It’s called The Sharing and I’ve been offered to come to one of the meetings." My uncle grabbed me by the shoulders and said, "You must never join The Sharing. Promise me that you will never join The Sharing. Promise on your honor." My uncle had a big thing about honor. I said, "I promise on my honor that I will never join The Sharing." He said, "Come we must go home." So we walked home and I went up to do some homework while my uncle and my parents talked. Homework. Yea right. That was an excuse. Actually I was listening to what they said. My dad said, "Ax, are you sure she said The Sharing?" Who was Ax? It must be my uncle because he spoke. He said, "Prince Jake I’m sure." My mom then said, "Then that means the Yeerks are back and we have to fight." My mom said the word Yeerk with pure hatred in her voice. My uncle said, "Prince Jake we have to tell Helaine. She needs to know her heritage and our past." My dad said, "No Ax. I know you love Helaine as if she was really your niece but I will not let her live the life we had to live." At that moment I stepped into the room and said, "I agree with Uncle Philip."

CHAPTER 2

When I stepped into the room my parents and uncle stared at me for a moment. I said, "What’s going on?" Then my uncle spoke. He said, "I would like to tell you but your parents won’t allow me to." He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall. My dad then said, "Ax, Philip maybe you should tell her." Me and my uncle went into the other room to talk. We both sat down at the table that was in there. I said, "Now what’s this about dad calling you Ax?" He said, "It’s a nickname for my real name." He then told me a horrible story about the Yeerks, the Andalites, the Chee, Elfangor. After he had told me all of this I said, "But if Elfangor was your brother and an andalite doesn’t that mean that you’re an andalite too?" He smiled and then he began to change. His clothes disappeared while blue and tan fur grew all over his body. Two small legs began to grow out of his chest and eyes on sticks grew out of his head. A tail formed out of his spine with a sharp blade on it and his knees reversed direction. Then the change was complete. Where my uncle was standing seconds ago now stood a andalite. And guess what I did. I fainted.

CHAPTER 3

When I woke up my parents and my uncle (he was human) were standing over me. I said to my uncle, "I guess that’s what an andalite looks like." He said, "Yes. That’s what an andalite looks like." My mom said, "Jake you better go phone Marco and Rachel and tell them to come over." My dad said, "I’ll go call them right now. Ax can you go find Tobias?" My uncle said, "Yes, I can find Tobias." As soon as my uncle came back and my dad got off the phone we drove to the barn where my mom worked. And the longer it took us to get there the more nervous my uncle got. As soon as we got there Marco, Tobias, and Rachel were already inside. Marco and Rachel occasionally came over and played cards with my parents. Every time I saw Rachel she just got more beautiful and every time I saw Marco he just got more obnoxious. Marco said, "So were relying on a kid. Tell me why does that strike me as silly?"

I said, "I’m as old as you were when you started this Animorph business." Rachel said, "So what are we going to do? Go back down to the Yeerk Pool?" Marco said, "So Xena is ready for some action." I said, "Who’s Xena?" My mom said, "An old TV show character." Rachel said, "Well why don’t you go down there Marco and let’s see how funny you think it is then." My dad said, "All right you two. Knock it off." <Rachel has a point Prince Jake. What are we going to do?> My uncle had changed back to his real form. My dad said, "Don’t call me prince." <Yes Prince Jake.> My dad said, "I have no idea why I bother saying that." My mom said, "Jake we have to do something." My dad said, " All right we’ll make some plans."

CHAPTER 4

That night they were going on a mission. But during the day my uncle explained a few things to me. I said, "What if I did have the power?" My uncle said <I don’t know. You father would possibly let you fight or he may not. But we can try it.> I said, "What kind of morph should I use?" My uncle led me into the barn. He said <How about a wolf?> I said, "I’ll try it." I went over to a cage were we had a wolf. A she-wolf. I reached in and gently stroked her fur. My uncle said <Remember what I said. Concentrate on her.> I concentrated. Then I felt the wolf go limp. I took my hand out of the cage and shut the door. I turned to my uncle and said, "Now what?" He said <Turn into the wolf. Make a mental picture of her in your mind.> I made a picture of the wolf in my mind. I concentrated on her jet black fur. Her yellow eyes. Her glistening white fangs. Then I felt myself changing.

CHAPTER 5

I kept concentrating and the changes kept going. Then I stopped changing. I opened my eyes. Actually I opened the she-wolfs eyes. I looked at my uncle. He stood there staring at me. He finally spoke. <We better tell your mother and father about this.> I said <When?> Hey! I could talk like my uncle did! I said <This is soooooo COOL!!!> Then my mom walked into the barn.

CHAPTER 6

I said <Hi mom.> My mom froze in her tracks. She stared at my uncle. She said, " Ax did you let that wol……….." She then noticed the real wolf in it’s cage. She stared at me and said, "Helaine?" I said <Yea mom. It’s me.> Then my mom fainted.

CHAPTER 7

I demorphed after my mom fainted & ran inside & said to my dad "Mom fainted! She’s in tha barn!" We ran to the barn & carried her in. My uncle joined us as soon as he morphed. My mom woke up. "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Jake." My dad said, "Yes Cassie." "Come closer I must tell you something." She whispered something in my dad’s ear. "WHAT!" My dad. My dad turned & said, "Young la….." "Dad! That was my first morph! I had only asked uncle Ax if he thought that if I had the morphing power that I might be able to fight the Yeerks with you!" "YOUNG LADY, GO TO YOUR ROOM! NOW!" I ran up the stairs to my room. I heard my father, mother, & my uncle talking. "Jake you shouldn’t have yelled at her like that." "She’s right Prince Jake. You shouldn’t have." "Ax is what she said COMPLETELY true?" "Yes Prince Jake." "I told you not to call me that." "Yes Prince Jake." "Ax." "Ok you two." Then there was silence for a while. Then my dad said, "Helaine, come back down here." I walked downstairs & sat on the couch. My dad said, "I’m sorry that I yelled at you it’s just that…………." My mom finished his sentence. "We don’t want you to get hurt or have one of those THINGS in your head. That……that would be worse than having you hurt or or killed! Far far worse." My uncle draped an arm around me. "None of us want ANYTHING to happen to you Helaine but your father has decided to let you join us on one condition." I said, "What?" My mom said, "Never take a risk unless you have to for it may cost you your life." I then said, "Alright no risks unless they have to be taken. Got it. Now what?" "Your uncle will take you to the zoo to get you some morphs."

CHAPTER 8

The next day was Saturday so my uncle took me to the zoo to get me some other morphs. We walked to where the birds were kept. My uncle said, "You will need a bird of prey because we use them." "Which bird?" "How about that one?" He pointed at a bird. I looked at it. A peregrine falcon. "How do I get it?" "Hum?" Suddenly a female peregrine falcon landed on the branch right in front of us. My uncle whispered, "I’ll distract it while you acquire it." I nodded. He then began to to (hehehe) do a little dance. I know it sounds funny but that’s what he did. As he was doing that I sneaked towards the falcon. I gently reached up, touched it, & began to acquire it. As soon as I was done we left. Then went to other exhibits & I got other morphs. My uncle got one morph for himself. A Texas ocelot. I have NO idea how he got that. The morphs that I got were a snow leopard (don’t ask me how I got that), a maned wolf, a Spanish lynx, a bottlenose dolphin, a cheetah, a Indian python (don’t ask), & a zebra. So I now had eight morphs. I also got a rattlesnake & a cockroach from the rehab clinic (the barn). So that was ten. When me & my uncle got back we told them what morphs that I (& my uncle) had gotten. My dad announced that that night we were going on a mission.

CHAPTER 9

Everyone was tense as we drove to the mall. Luckily the mall was still open. We walked towards The Gap. As we walked in I said, "What are we doing here?" No one answered my question. We each went into a dressing room. Me & my mom in one, my dad, uncle, & the other Animorphs in different rooms. Then five roaches came under the wall. My dad said <Helaine, Cassie! Morph now! Someone’s coming!> I began to morph. My mom whispered, "Keep your eyes closed." I shut my eyes tightly & continued morphing. When I felt my legs (all six of them) touch the ground I found that my eyes were open. Then the door opened.

CHAPTER 10

I had practiced (with my parents) on how to hear people talking in roach morph. So I could understand everything. A man said, "There were two people in here, so I have no….." The other man cut him off. "Never mind what happened to them. I have an appointment & I don’t want to be late." The other man left & the other guy, who was a controller, shut the door then opened the mirror. Rachel yelled <Let’s go!> We then scurried as fast as a roach can. The mirror-door shut behind us. We let the man go ahead of us. Then we flew down the steps. Light! The roach barn screamed to get out of the light. I told it no. I heard screams. We were now in the Yeerk Pool.

CHAPTER 11

Me, my mom, & Rachel scurried to a dark area & demorphed. I had no idea where everyone else was. My mom said, "Ok remember what Jake said. We don’t morph until he……." She was cut off by a tigers roar. Then she said, "Morph now!" I concentrated on the snow leopard who’s DNA was within me. White fur with black circle like spots covered me while a tail formed out of my spine. My mom was already gone. She was the best morpher. As I looked at the battle going on I saw a wolf pounce on a Hork-bajir. I knew that that was my mother. I looked down & saw that I had finished morphing. Rachel was beside me in a grizzly bear morph. She said <Let’s go kick some Yeerk butt.> I said <Let’s.> We charged into the battle. Rachel reared up & flung Hork-bajir left & right (up an down too). I leapt on a Hork & sank my teeth into its neck. When only 4 Hork-Bajir were left standing the Yeerks surrendered. Each Yeerk got out of their hosts head (reluctantly). All of the hosts went up the stairs & into the mall. The Hork-bajirs Yeerks went into the Yeerk Pool too. Marco grabbed a Dracon Beam & fired it at the Yeerk Pool. We ran up the stairs as explosions went off behind us.

CHAPTER 12

As we got through the mirror-door Rachel turned & caved in the stairway right by the door. She quickly slammed the door. BANG!!! It now was shut for good. Rachel had to bring the doors of The Gap down so we could get out. We (the Horks, humans, & us) ran towards the front door where Rachel & Marco tore the doors off their hinges (They put them back on). The humans ran for their homes & families while we (the Hork-bajir & us) ran into the woods. We demorphed in front of the Horks knowing that they wouldn’t get taken by Yeerks again. We took them to the secret valley (glade whatever you want to call it) where Jara-Hamee, Ket-Halpak, & their children lived. We then traveled to our homes. As soon as me, my mom, & dad got home we fell asleep. My dad simply fell on the couch & was asleep. My mom went upstairs to her bedroom & slept. I grabbed a pillow & a blanket off the couch & fell asleep in the floor.

CHAPTER 13

The next night we went & destroyed the Kandrona. Then all we had to worry about was the Yeerk mothership over Earth. Then we finally got rid of that problem. The Earth was free! Free of Yeerks! We rejoiced. Then the andalites came. Everyone else on Earth found that we weren’t alone. My dad was proclaimed a Prince (an andalite prince). A prince! Marco, Rachel, Cassie, Tobias, & me were warriors. My uncle wasn’t seen for many days. Finally I saw him. He came up to me & said <My little warrior, you will never guess what has happened.> I said, "What? What has happened?" <I’ve been promoted to War-Prince!!!!> "That’s great!" Tobias suddenly flew overhead. He yelled <Hey guys! Some of the andalites are staying here!> I yelled, "All right!" <There’s something else. Were getting andalite technology!> My uncle said <Look around us. Because of what we did this happened. What if we hadn’t done what we did? The world would belong to the Yeerks but it doesn’t because of us.> I hugged my uncle. He hugged me back. His words rang through my head. I thought to myself The world just got better.
