Informal Reading Inventory is designed to determine
reading level and
specific strengths and weaknesses in word recognition
and reading
comprehension. I use sets of graded word lists, graded
reading passages, and forms, enabling the re-testing
of students.
I use forms that are organized into a teacher booklet
and a student booklet
which contain a graded series of reading passages
accompanied by
comprehension and vocabulary questions. This is a
great classroom diagnostic tool.
