How to find and download drivers for your hardware.

Drivers are need by the OS to use hardware devices. For example, most modems and other devices will not work unless the OS has the correct driver to use that device.

Goto WinDrivers.com

Click "Advance Search" within the "Driver Search" menu box.

Now click on the type of device that you need the drivers for. For this situation, I will click on the "Modems."

The next window will be a company search.

Here I clicked on the "Lucent" company link. Then you can click on the Driver page.

You can then key in the modem information such as model number or chip names. You will need to have the modem out of the PC to read this information.

Once you have found the driver for your specific device, just download it and open the file. Write down were the driver files are located. Now goto the control panel and click add new hardware. Follow the on-screen instructions and remember were those driver files are located.
