Oral Melling was born in Brey, Ireland and raised in Canada. She graduated from Trinity College, University of Toronto, with a BA in Celtic Studies and Philosophy, and a MA in Medieval Irish History. She has always had a great interest in mythology and fantasy which greatly inspires her writing. She currently lives in Co. Galway, Ireland.
