An incredible show to compliment an incredible album...everything was seamless and gorgeous, and i had a great time. My only complaint was that there was almost nothing from their past efforts, which are also awesome works of art...but if i had to rate the time i had, i'd give it it a 9.9...i had a blast!
Fri. & Sat, Dec. 28 & 29, Jose Muldoon's, Colorado Springs, Co
OHMYGOSH! i am going to give these collective shows a 10 because they played one of my favoritest songs of all time!! they have showed their fine spirit and showmanship with two shows that are going to be hard to forget! the flow between llm originals and cover tunes showed their diverse tastes and immense talent! Both nights, Brian sang "I Ran (So Far Away)" by Flock of Seagulls, and wowed everyone's socks off both times! The first night, Friday, Quinton was forced by his illness to stay sitting for most of the show, and both nights he played the untitled track from "Foreward" (track 11) and proved that he was one of the greatest moves in band member selection history...all four of these men are so talented and such a delight to watch play...okay, i'm gushing...i love these guys...
Saturday, January 26, The Ritz, Colorado Springs, Co
Such a fun show! I only got to watch 2 sets, and my only complaint was that i heard maybe 3 llm originals...but hearing Quinton sing "Mary Jane's Last Dance" was worth the trip down south...what i do love about them covering others songs is seeing A)how they interpret them and B)how much fun everyone has (band and crowd)! Their tireless efforts get reactions! The way they do "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" is so incredible and so moving...i guess i do have another complaint, but it's not their fault: The Ritz is way too cramped for a band this good and popular...i should've taken a pic of the crowd, they had to be way past capacity in there, but i guess since everyone was enjoying themselves, it was okay...it was just really hard to take a drink of my beer and not hit someone upside the head...oh, well, c'est la vie...over all, a 9.8!
Saturday, Feb. 16th, Cricket on the Hill, Denver, Co
holy cannoli! i had so much fun, and those were the best pics i have ever taken at ANY show!apparently, one of the bands cancelled, so LLM played a longer set...WHOO-HOO!! i was stoked! they have done it yet again, folks...in my humble opinion, they just get better and better with every show! Quinton wowed everyone there again with "All Along the Watchtower," and they graced us with a song that is brand spanking new...so new, it doesn't have a name! i had a lot of fun, met some great people and got to see yet another fabulous show! life is good! just when you think your favorite band has gotten as good as they can possibly get, they get justa little bit better! so i have to give this show a resounding 10!
sometime in the beginning of march, 2002, acoustic coffee lounge, colorado springs, co
hehehe....i had a blast...i am beginning to wonder why i bother doing reviews when i am so biased....i am not a hauge fan of the venue, the whole, "let's rape you for cover and try to force you to buy a drink" thing is a load, and on top of it, no smoking? sheesh...ok, enough soap box....i had fun, they kicked ass....i give up rating these shows, they always rock...
june 8, the ritz, colorado springs, co
ok, now i giggle lie a school girl....i was really upset (ok, still am) that it was 95% cover songs, but i was so trashed and had such a great time it was worth the drive....and yes, the ritz is still tiny and over priced, but it was fun!!! damn, i love these guys...
