Three stunning evening gowns are included in this pattern (which fits Barbie and other 11˝" fashion dolls), and represent a variety of styles worn by Princess Diana on memorable occasions, as well as a favorite "afternoon" dress:
- View A. Princess Diana's Opera Gown is shown on the envelope in red velvet and satin, a variation from the original in blue. The split front gown features a train and portrait collar.
- View B. Versace created this one-shouldered slinky number which Diana wore to a ball in Australia.
- View C. This "bright and easy-going shift dress" was a favorite for afternoon.
- View D. Catherine Walker designed the original Halter Gown for Diana to wear in Washington, DC. The long slim-line skirt features a strapless bodice with lace halter, embroidered with pearls.
- After research, some additional details have been added. Hose and purses are also included as accessories.
This exclusive pattern introduces "theme" collections, a group of Aileen's patterns re-drawn with new instructions. Aileen's photos are featured on the front of the 6" x 9" white envelope and patterns are carefully and neatly printed on 11" x 17" paper. Only one large skirt pattern is on fold; all others have been re-drawn complete (because I don't like cutting out small pieces on fold; it is too difficult to maintain accuracy). Directions have also been simplified in a booklet with sketches and a materials list has been added.
