PROJECT PURPOSE
This project has 3 primary purposes:
1. To explain why some leaves do not change color in the fall, and why others change color
2. To test the theory that fall leaf color is determined by two factors: 1) cool evening temperatures of 7 C and 2) dry late summers
3. To look for the relationships and trends among the data collected by all project participants.
You should pick at least one of these purposes to focus on during the project.
You should develop a hypothesis for the project. Some things you may want to consider are:
1. Do you think both factors as described above influence fall leaf color? Why or why not?
2. Do you think that you will see the same dominant fall color in the same latitude band? Why or why not?
3. What relationships do you expect to see among the data?
