All About Goldfish...

...and why I can't be replaced!

Ugh. Maintanence of the bio page. Psy-ay-ay!!

Hi, I'm Goldfish. For some odd reason, you want to know more about me. Well, Ok, but don't say you weren't warned!

Graduated from BU with my psych degree. Whoopee! I took some well-deserved time off, and now I'm working on getting into grad school for my MM in Music Ed.

I have been in marching band since high school. Up here, I was the color guard captain. I played calrinet in pep band for two years, then switched off to baritone horn and eventually tuba. I am once again actively singing, which is good, since my audition is going to be a vocal one. I'm also back into dance, which I discovered I missed more than I thought. I also used to be part of Summer Stage, which was a children's theater group, but I got too old.

My sophomore year, I decided to become a membership candidate for Kappa Kappa Psi, Theta Beta chapter. It's a National Honorary Fraternity for College Bandmembers. My membership class (the Sigma Class) elected me to be their fearless President. And now, I'm Brother Sequel, #144, of the Theta Beta chapter here at Boston University. I'm also serving as the Chapter Parliamentarian, which is a ton of fun. And, as of December 3, I have a Little Brother! Her name's Pam, Brother Almighty #159, and she's the Upsilon Class President. Whoopee! It's really cool to be a few hundred miles from home but still have a family. But I have a whole section of this mess of a webpage devoted to that, so I won't bore you with the details again.

I have a pet turtle, Eugene. Of course, Eugene is female. What can I say? I named her before I found out she wasn't a he! Don't laugh, I'd like to see you try to figure out what sex she is just by looking at her!

And, as a wonderful graduation present, TW got me my KITTEN!! Her name's Kisaki, or just 'Saki for short. She's an adorable tuxedo kitty, born in late April, 2001. I love her to pieces!

My boyfriend of a year or so, Damian, is currently off in Africa for 2 years of Peace Corps service. Sucks for me, but I'm dealing. I have enough crap to do in the next two years that I won't go too crazy waiting for him to get back.

And then there are my crazy friends.
Steve has been my best buddy since we were in Winnie the Pooh together. And now I know better than to keep any boyfriend who does not meet with his approval. I tried that twice, and it didn't work. So next time I go out with someone and Steve stops speaking to me, I'll know better. It really is scary to think that there is someone out there that knows me better than I know myself.
Then there's my roommate, RAM. The two of us have developed our own language up here. It's sad. We go home for a break, and we end up talking to ourselves (and finishing our dialogues to ourselves. You know you have a friend when you can sit there and go through, "Bitch!" "Whore!" "Crack Whore!" "Slut!" "Puck Slut!" "That's Venerable Puck Slut to you!" without missing a beat. :-) And what's even scarier is that, although we're not officially roommates this year, we will be again. That's right, homies, the insanity returns next year. Hooboy...

I listen to a lot of music, though it's mainly rock. My favorite group is Better Than Ezra. After that is Tori Amos. Other than that, anything on the radio is pretty good, with the exception of Matchbox 20, the Wallflowers, and the like. I do NOT listen to rap, with the exception of "Swap Meet Louie" (That's right, homies!). Okay, maybe a little rap....all right, all right, so I'm a B Girl! Jeez! I was lucky enough to see BTE 4 times this year, all of which were awesome. If you ever see me and want a good story, ask me about the Portsmouth Adventure. It was a hilarious time, and RAM and I are still amazed at the whole experience. I really might get around to finishing it here, if you're all lucky. TW was working on a much funnier version of the story a la Stephen King's The Mist, but I don't think she ever finished it.

Also, I'm a big time hockey fan. I wasn't always, but then I moved to Boston. You can't live here long (especially if you go to BU!) and not learn to love hockey. However, I do come from a long line of Flyers fans, and I proudly keep up that tradition. My godfather and his wife were there when they beat the Bruins and won the Stanley Cup back in '74, (and probably in '75, when they beat the Sabres, who sucked back then and STILL do) and my parents used to go to almost every home game, back when ticket prices were reasonable. I got to go to my first game over break. It was the coolest thing I did! Beezer was in net, and I proudly sported my new Desjardins jersey and took pictures from the 15th row. They shut out the Islanders 5-0, and I was the only person in the F.U. Center that shouted, "Sieve!" And, of course I love BU hockey, but that's all on the Crazy Hockey Page

I don't watch that much TV, but the Diva (otherwise known as my little sister) is a big time addict of that silly cartoon, Pokemon. Over my winter break I got really sick and spent a couple days dying on the couch in my family's living room. Lucky me, Mare had a billion episodes on tape, and guess which room has the only working VCR? You got it. And the sad thing is, TW and I sit here like 10-year-olds and watch Pikachu and friends almost daily. But it really is a good stress release. We've come to think of ourselves as Team Rocket and everything. (I have the long hair, so I get to be Jessie, if you were wondering). Nowadays, the two of us live for Cartoon Network. I get a huge kick out of the Powerpuff Girls, and there's always Batman: the Animated Series and the stuff on Toonami. Our favorite by a long shot is Dragon Ball Z, though. Good stuff. If you have CN, I recommend tuning in at 12:30 at night. It may be a bit confusing at first, but it's well worth it! I'm still trying to keep up with the DBZ QOTD's.

My newest thing is Tae Kwon Do. I currently hold a green belt, although I'm promoting in about a week or so to purple belt, so I'm just about halfway there! It's a ton of fun, and quite cool.

I think that's about it for now. While you're here, check out the Crazy hockey page for a good laugh, or the nutty quote page for some of my inside jokes. And there's always my page on the Sigma Class, which is always fun. Thanks for stoping by!
