My 64 Nova SS Pics

This is a shot of my car the day I brought it home. I was only sixteen and full of ideas. I paid a lofty $2,000 for it. Looking back on it, I don't think I would have paid that much given the opportunity again. Either way, I bought the car from the original owner. In addition, it is an original Super Sport car with the factory 283 c.i. small block option. There aren't to many of these cars left, so maybe it was worth it. The car looks good, but it had a lot of problems that I later detected. More shots of my first car. Here is a shot of the front before I messed it up. Here is a shot of my step Dad and I stripping the car before we took it to the body shop. You are probably wondering what happened. Well, lets just say I had a fender bender or two with it. It was unfortunate. Here is another shot of me stripping the car down before we took it to the body shop. The whole trunk area was shot, so we cut it all out and put in new sheetmetal.
Here is a shot of the new floors that were put in. This is the car at the body shop. This is a pic of the new quarter on the drivers side. My body man put a lot of time into the quarters. Since they didn't have factory ones or good reproductions available I had to get hand stamped ones that needed attention. Overall the car isn't too bad now. I had both quarters done, trunk, door, fenders and a cowl induction hood. I still need to do the interior. This shot gives one a good idea of the amount of work that was put into bringing this body back to life. Here is another shot of the new quarters that were put on the car. This is a picture of me and my car after work. This was shortly after I had all the work done to it. The car now sports a 350 ci. small block chevy .040 over. It has an LT-1 cam with 2.02 heads that are ported and polished with a matching Edlebrock Performer intake. On top sits a 650 double pump Holley carb. The small block mill is tied to a Turbo 350 trans that sports a shift kit. Out back is a stock 10-Bolt rear with 2.73 gears. The car works good, but I have it ripped apart again. I am install installing headers, Mallory Unilite distributor, Trans Cooler, Elecrtic Fan, Subframe connecters, new wheels and tires and a Ford 9 inch with a Detroit Locker with 3.89 gears. These changes are complete, but I don't have new pics yet. Plus, I didn't get the car on the street again yet. More pics will be comming soon!! Here is a rear view. I decided to paint the trunklid tail light area silver. This is how it was originally. This is a picture of the cowl induction hood I bought for the Nova. You can also see the stainless steel hood pins my step Dad made for at his work. He is a machinist. Here is a great shot of me and my machine after a hard days work!
