Among the first war dead
to return to the states on the Army
Transport Honda Knot were New Mexicans who
died at Hoten POW Camp in Mukden Manchuria:
Cpl. Hershel A. Grooms, son of Mrs. Pearl
Grooms, Albuquerque; Sgt. John J. Wilcoxson,
son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles W. Wilcoxson,
Albuquerque; Sgt. Robert E. Mitchell,
Bernalillo; Pfc. Ignacio Baca, son of Serito Baca, Socorro; and Sgt. Elbert L. Ruebush, Mrs.
H. H. Ruebush, Deming. |
