Cavite Navy Yard after December 10, 1941 bombing.

Young men from all across New Mexico, from all walks of life, joined the National Guard at the end of the Great Depression. The New Mexico National Guard, the oldest in the United States, traces its origins to the Spanish Colonial Period of the 17th Century.

Cavite Navy Yard, City of Cavite, Province of Cavite, [Republic of the] Philippines, situated on a pennisula, was surrounded by Manila Bay. Marine detachments manning anti-aircraft guns were virtually powerless to stop enemy planes flying well above their gun's reach.
