Dave Smith is known throughout the USIBL as one of the fiercest rebounders in the league. Even though his Harrsiburg Grasshoppers are 1-5, he has been playing exceptionally well.
Along with brother Drew, he is forced to lead Harrisburg night in night out and is already taking a toll on his body. With guys like T.J. Hunter and Gary Goshleg not playing really good, and being in the tough East Division hurts this team badly. The fans still come out and watch there beloved Grasshoppers and their star C.
Dave started the year on the New Jersey Kryp, but after getting into a big fight with owner James Sircumalot Jr. he was shipped to PA in the huge 4-way deal. So far he averages 13.2ppg and 17.6rpg and is the emotional leader on the 'Hoppers. With their season starting out like the Cavs, he may be forced to do it all on his own. Unless Dave turns into Superman, Harrisburg is hoping for the #1 pick come the offseason.
Interview with Dave Smith.
Spotlight: Being 1-5, what is going through your mind as a player, and are the players down on themselves?
Dave: Helll yes we are down on ourselves. We have lost two very close games that could have made us 500 instead we are 4 games below 500, which is a killer. We need to come out and fight like dogs if we even want to make the post-season.
Spotlight: Describe your relationship with Drew Smith
Dave: Drew is my brother. I treat him like my brother, unless we are on the court, then he is my teammate. I treat him the same as everyone else on the team then, because he isn’t' any better than any one else out there. He does his pass thing just like Gary and TJ do their shooting thing.
Spotlight: When I see you on the court, you remind me of a Ben Wallace - Dennis Rodman type with your intensity to win, how do you do it night in night out.
Dave: Well I try to, but this week I kinda didn't do it, so I can't answer your question because I don't have that ability to yet, although I wish I did.
Spotlight: Who has impressed you the most so far 6 games through the year?
Dave: Nobody has impressed me yet. Ja has been doing good, but so has Drake and Donyell. If I had to, I would say the whole Lightning team impresses me, they are just awesome, but no one has showed complete dominance as of yet.
Spotlight: What does your team need to work on in the off-season to improve as a basketball team?
Dave: Shooting and defense, we have NONE.
Spotlight: Who wins the USIBL Championship this year and why?
Dave: Chicago, all around great players, they have no weakness and they can keep bringing fresh legs at you all game long.
Spotlight: Who is the hottest celebrity chick right now?
Dave: Angelina Jolie

Dave: Shes got those gigantic tiggle bitties in anal raider.... i mean tomb raider.
Spotlight: And...Where in the hell is Harrisburg? Whose idea was to move there?
Dave: uhh , its the capital of PA, DUH! it was my idea.
Spotlight: Grasshoppers suck...
Dave: yea we do
