Rookie/Sophomore Preview (Starters)
Sophomore Starters

C- Dave Smith, Harrisburg Grasshoppers
If he was in the West, he would be an All-Star, but since he is in the East with Donyell Matrell and Drake Nolurskin he hardly got any votes, but is lucky theres this Rook/Soph Game. Just like in the reg. season it looks like the 2 Smiths, Dave and Drew will lead a team. He must dominate inside like he has done so far and control rebounds and dish out to Fred Strong or Jason Parrott for open looks. He doesn't get much pub but along with his brother single-handledly lifts HBurg each game. Without the Smiths they are 0-9. He has been incredible so far and must play amazing to give the Sophs a chance.

PF- Mick Domas, Chicago Lightning
A key figure in Chicagos lineup. He does the usual, blocks - rebounds - scores but not as good as maybe a Trinh or Miller thats why he did not make the All-Star Game, but will be a force downlow for the Sophomores. He puts up solid numbers on a consistent basis and the Sophs look for a 10pt/5reb game from him. Domas should play well. He is the league leader n blocks and is hoping to put on a block party in front of the fans Wedesday.

SF- Tasmin Mitchell, Honolulu Missiles
In my opinion only a starter because the Coach of the Sophs is Troy Hutson, Honolulu owner, but nonetheless Mitchell is a solid player and has filled in quite well as a role player this year. He is unknown to most USIBL players but can step up and make some shots if needed. Thats what his game is mostly built around shooting the basketball, he hast he green light often when he gets the ball.
Stats - 13.1ppg 4.1rpg

SG- Fred Strong, St. Louis Crusaders
Very Underrated! He, in my opinion is an All-Star and should have gotten voted in besides Shawn McGrady but this is his time to prove to everyone that he belonged in the All-Star Game and he looks to shoot the lights out against Jake Martinez of NJ, his matchup. Strong is a really good shooter, but he can also rebound and pass the ball when asked, but with Drew Smith on his team he won't need to. Must shoot the ball well for the Sophs to keep them in the game.

PG- Drew Smith, Harrisburg Grasshoppers
The second Hooper in this Starting Lineup and again, if in the West he would be an All-Star, but since you have Kidd,Ferrino and Payton in this div. theres no way he makes it. This kid is all HBurg has passing the ball, he is so good at finding Dave for big baskets, well Wedesday he has Strong and Parrott to pass to and he can shoot the ball good as well. An all-around great player and needs to step up his game to give Sophs a W. Drew Smith vs. James Kidd is the biggest matchup in this game and Drew needs to win it come Wedesday, and he has the skills to do just that.

Rookie Starters

C- Quincy Haynesford, Alaska Freeze
Selected #7 by Alaska Freeze, he was an unkown but so far this year he has stepped up and has produced decent numbers as starting C/PF. Haynesford will need to start off well for the Rookies when they throw it down to him in the post, make some baskets and get some rebounds to get them off on the right foot. Definitely a good choice here as starter. Needs to play well here to show people that he can play with the big boys.
Stats - 14.7ppg 9.3rpg

PF- Gary Goshleg, San Diego Sting Rays
Wow, what a move it was for San Diego, Goshleg has proven himself time and time again so far this year that he can play really well. He can rebound and shoot big shots constantly. He will be asked to play some quality minutes and to block shots to help Q set the pace of this game. Definitely a good player trying to get great and playing well in this game would be a nice start.
Stats - 15.8ppg 6.6rpg 2.4bpg

SF- Tim Johnson, Buffalo Braves
Definitely All-Star quality. He is a great player and has played terrfiic basketball so far for the 9-0 Buffalo Braves. He has surprised us all and in my opinion deserved to be in the All-Star Game, but since he isn't he needs to show us that he is a great player and can do anything asked of him come game time. He along with Kidd and Martinez look to be too tough for the Sophomores to handle. Johnson is an incredible scorer on a packed team, and I mean the way he acts as well is just incredible. Def. could play better in the 2nd half of the year though. But just look at his stats, incredible.
Stats - 14.4ppg 2.8bpg

SG- Jake Martinez, New Jersey Kryp
A Rookie who has come into his own for Cummy and the 4-5 Kryp, he can shoot rebound steal all very well and will be asked by Zack to just that. Martinez needs to prove to us that he is a great player and deserves publicity. This is his time to show us he is for real. With NJ looking good for the playoff birth, Martinez needs to start playing very good ball and it must start Wedesday.
Stats - 15.6ppg 3.4rpg

PG- James Kidd, New Jersey Kryp
NJ has its backcourt representin at this game. The first triple double this year and is just a truly blessed player. He can do it all, score, pass and rebound and lead a team. He is a great leader and that is why NJ came up with its 4 wins so far. Kidd should be an all-star, but since hes in the East he is denied that priveledge, I say he gets a TRIPLE DOUBLE and gets MVP of this game.
Stats - 12.1ppg 10.3apg 6.7rpg

Overall: The Rookies will take this thing, they are just too talented with Johnson, Martinez and Kidd. Those 3 are the reason why they take this game, even though the East has the Smith brothers those 2 wont be enough even with Strong and Parrott on fire. Should be a great game come watch them duke it out.
