2-2 TOURNEY

ROUND 1:

Mick Domas Jr. and Jason Parrott are going to have it in for themselves when they set to face off again Ja Harvey and "K-Mac." I think these two Alaskans will prevail over their opponents by a slim margin, because they have their teamwork down already. Domas' size could be an advantage to the Domas Jr./Parrott team as well.

Jason Kidd and Mick Domas will absolutely trounce the two big men, Dave Smith and ZowZow Wang. These two phenoms will set the pace early, and they won't letup until it's all over. Watch out for these two dynamic players to explode against the two big guys.

Fred Strong and Pancho O'Reilly are simply shooters. The two cousins have been that way the whole season and the two of them are both among the league leaders in three-point percentage. Watch for them to take it to Shawn McGrady, and rookie Quincy Haynesford.

Greg Kowalczyk and Drake Nolurskin will dominate this tournament completely. The Big Man Nolurskin will provide the rebounds, and Kowalczyk will provide the long-range shooting. Thunder and Anderson, two rookies, should have a tough time containing them.

DA A.I. Kid and Reggie M. O'Neal will be in for a real beating the way their playing. Neither one of them has done a single thing all season long, and I don't expect either of them to turn around their performances any time soon as they head off against dime man Drew Smith and shooter Magic Jordan.

Dante Robinson and Julius Smith face off against the second set of cousins, Max Baez and Keith Logan. I think Dante/Julius have a chance because nobody on Max/Keith's team will be able to bring the ball up court successfully. Watch for a close game, but I think Dante and Julius can pull off the upset.

Dante Trinh and James Sircumalot Jr. have their work set out for them when they'll face Dan Miller and Greg Ferrino. The new teammates will try to set up their offense, but I think the defense of Miller, and play-making of Ferrino will be just too hot for them to handle, as Ferrino/Miller move on.

John Payton and Jake Martinez will try to take down Colin Falls and Benji Taurasi. I think they can do it, because Colin and Benji are two unbelievably selfish players and will not play well together. I don't remember seeing them sign up together, but they must have been paired somehow.

3-3 TOURNEY

ROUND 1:

Alaska will bring in Kobe McGrady, Abdul Johnson, and Quincy Haynesford. I would think they had a shot at winning the tournament, but Haynesford is the weak link that will let them down. Look out for a dominating performance by K-Mac, but he can't carry his team throughout the tourney. They have a bye first round

Chicago's team consists of Stee V. Franchize, Yaz Starkey, and Mick Domas. They have a great scorer, defender, and all-around player, tehy should beat San Diego whos team consists of Reggie M. O'Neal, Carlos Santibanez, and T.J. Hunter.

Harrisburg will move on into the second round. I guess you could say it's because they have a bye, but I like to call it hard work. Their team consists of GOAT, Jett Wang, and Drew Smith.

Honolulu also receives the bye this week, and will move onto face the Harrisburg Grasshoppers. What a game that should be (yes, sarcasm). Their team consists of Wali FAGBOY Rainer, Troy Hutson, and Jalen Jarrett.

The Oklahoma Wranglers, consisting of Jason Parrott, Charlie Gayle, and Julius Smith move on with their #3 seed and bye to face the winner of New Jersey vs. Bye. I wonder who'll win that game?

New Jersey showcases their very best in this matchup, except James Sircumalot Jr. I think they will be able to go far into the tournament with the defensive aid from Mick Domas Jr., and play creating from James Kidd. Jake Martinez is a good defensive player, but doesn't come up with much offense.

St. Louis, consisting of their best three, Fred Strong, Max Baez, and Pancho O'Reilly, will face Orlando's weak array of Orlando Iverson, Chris Wells, and Young Gunna. Two of these players are on the bench, and Orlando already has one of the worst teams in the league. St. Louis will move on to play Buffalo. What a jip!

Buffalo receives the bye, and they get to face St. Louis in the second round, if things go accordingly. They have three of their best out there with Miller, Kowalczyk, and Ferrino. They could take it all with such awesome talent.

NOT-SO-SHARP-3-PT-CONTEST

ROUND 1:

Carlos Santibanez tries to recapture the throne he held last year. A point guard, he should be better at three pointers, but I guess does not believe in that attribute. He has a very legitimate chance at taking the crown once again, with the #1 seed.

Robert Kurz, the highly-touted draftee, should be a thrill to watch. He is known for his three-point shooting ability, and should be able to take down big man Micah Alredge. This shouldn't be much of a contest, and I think Kurz will move on.

Tasmin Mitchell, another guard, is one of those slashers who can't shoot the three ball very well. He faces off against benchie Zac Corbin, who can shoot the rock decently enough to move on. I think he will move onto the next round, but not much further.

Donyell Matrell is not the best three point shooter you'll ever meet. In fact, he's one of the worst in the league -- but, hey, what do you expect from the big guy? Draftee J.T. Thunder is yet to prove himself in the league, but I think that he can beat the big fella.

Another draftee among others has decided to sign up for the contest, but he will be facing rookie Brian De Young, who has come off of the bench for Alaska with some big treys. Look for this to be a good matchup, but I'd put my money on De Young.

Michael Andersen Jr. is one of the hottest prospects around, and I think he'll take it to sophomore Jack Jackson. He is a shooting guard, and what do they do? Shoot well! Look for Andersen Jr. to go deep into the not-so-sharp contest.

Matt Priesemeyer is set to face off against Kevin Duncan -- another guard who can't shoot. We'll see what happens, because I have never personally seen either of the two shoot a three. This should be pretty interesting.

SLAM DUNK COMPETITION:

ROUND ONE:

Dante Robinson will just show off his moves since he doesn't go up against anybody, and will try to capture his second slam dunk championship in a row.

Tasmin Mitchell will battle it out versus rookie Reggie M. O'Neal, as both go head-to-head as the 16 and 17 seeds, respectively. Look for Reggie M. O'Neal to pull out all the stops here, I think he's very underrated.

Zac Corbin will take on Dave Smith here, and I don't think anyone will be surprised when Corbin downs center Dave Smith. Not many centers are too "fluid" with their dunks.

Shawn McGrady hopes to defeat Jack Jackson in a one-on-one dunk contest, but I think Jackson, with his amazing charisma will charm the crowd and judges to upset S-Mac.

Benji Taurasi is a point guard going up against one of the highest flying kids in all of the USIBl, although Smith is ranked amazingly low, I think he will upset Taurasi with his daring three-sixty windmill dunk.

Zow Wang vesus Keith Logan: a big man matchup, so in my mind, it's a toss up, but I'm going with Keith Logan, because except for Dante Trinh, not many far-easterners have the "up's" judges are looking for.

Charlie Gayle will show off his skill in a practice round basically working on his moves, but not giving away what he has for next round.

Ja Harvey will lose to DA A.I. Kid, on account that he doesn't want to tire his legs out for the all-star game. He wants to win badly there.

Goshleg is overrated like Ja Harvey is, and in my mind, Robert Kurz is the highest-flying draftee in the game. Look for another upset.

De Young, although not that fluid dribbling, can throw it down hard. Jett Wang, another far-easterner, will lose this one by a landslide.

"Duel" should be able to take down Troy Hutson, who's better at shooting than throwing dunks down. Look out though, because Hutson has a good imagination and could come up with something original.

Matt Priesemeyer is a rookie this year, and wants to showcase his talents. Same with Orlando Iverson, but Priesemeyer is just a much better athlete, and has a lot of charisma. Priesemeyer moves on.

Eddie Elite will probably be upset here, because Yaz Starkey has some amazing hop's, and can really throw one down with some originality.

Magic Jordan will absolutely own John Johnson in this battle, although most of you probably know this already. Look for Johnson to be severely dominated.

Micah Alredge and Oden James are two very talented leapers, but I think Oden James, with family roots to LeBron James, will take this one by a slim margin.

Dante Trinh will try to represent the far east in this round by throwing down some creative dunks. Don't look for anything too special however, as he will probably save it for later rounds.

THREE POINT CONTEST

ROUND 1:

James Sircumalot Jr. faces off against Oden James in one of the best matchups of the night. Oden James is not all that great from behind the arc, but he is a clutch player, and in my mind, will come through in the clutch. He has experience coming off of the bench to shoot the trey. Sircumalot Jr. does not take that many three's, but he's the overall better shooter. I think he'll move on.

Tim Johnson isn't the best three point shooter you'll ever come across, but he can get the job done. He's going up against Jalen Jarrett, one of the best three-ball shooters in the league. I'd watch out for a shootout between the two, because they're so evenly matched. I think Jarrett will win this one, however, because he has more experience shooting the rock.

John Payton will absolutely dominate this matchup; John Johnson isn't ready for the bigtime yet, and he will get "schooled" by the veteran Payton. John is one of the best 3pt shooters in the league, and I'll put my money on him to win this one, and maybe even the next round as well.

Justin Timberlake is a SHOOTER. That's all he does -- he doesn't run quickly, he doesn't play good defense, he doesn't rebound -- all he can do is shoot the trey and the jumper. It's too bad for Stee V. FranchiZe having to go up against the best shooter in the league. Timberlake will win this contest hands down, unless Sircumalot Jr. has somethin' to say about it!

SLAM DUNK CONTEST

ROUND 2:

Dante Robinson and Reggie M. O'Neal face off tonight at 7:00 eastern as the first matchup of the night. The 1 seed against 17 -- it shouldn't be too close of a contest, but Reggie turned some heads last night with his amazing dunks earning him a 19.3 out of a possible twenty. If you're looking for a big upset, here it is.

Zac Corbin muscled out Dave Smith -- I told you he would. Corbin didn't have extremely impressive dunks, but Dave Smith, the big man, exhibited very little jumping ability, and that is a main category the judges will look for. Zac Corbin will move on to face Shawn McGrady (18.4), and I think he'll beat him by a slim margin. S-Mac outdid Jack Jackson by only three tenths of a point -- one of the closest matchups of the night.

This is my pride -- picking the lowest seeded player to upset number four Benji Taurasi -- Julius Smith. I think he will go far in the tournament, and showcase his underrated talent. Julius Smith will move onto face 23 seed Keith Logan, who upset Zow Wang, the far easterner by just two tenths of a point. This was the closest matchup of the night, although neither of these kids had particulary high scores, it was gun to watch. I think Julius Smith wins this one by a landslide -- Keith Logan's too big and goofy.

Tim Johnson is the lowest seeded player in round two -- he upset Charlie Gayle by two tenths of a point (another close matchup), with a score of 18.3; he will move onto face ex-teammate JaMichael Harvey. This should be the best matchup of round two, with two great dunkers going at it. They have al ot to play for: bragging rights, and, well, bragging rights. I think Ja Harvey will win this one, because he has the better jumping ability. Simple as that.

Gary Goshleg showed that he was a worthy rookie by taking down draftee Robert Kurz. He will move onto face Brian De Young, who was recently traded. De Young beat the other Easterner, Jett Wang, by four tenths of a point. I think Goshleg will once again, move on, and let his name come into the spotlight.

"Duel" Johnson upset Troy Hutson by .9, showing he can play with the best of the USIBL. I think he was very underrated coming into the tournament by everyone. He will move onto face Matt Priesemeyer, who showcased the second highest score on the night -- 19.3 -- and I think the two of these players will be neck-'n-neck the whole time, as both have the talent to win. I think Duel will win, however.

Yaz Starkey absolutely dominated Eddie Elite, a big, wide-body center, who can't jump worth a damn. This was the most one-sided matchup of the night, as Eddie posted the lowest score with a 15.6. He will move onto face Magic Jordan who totaled in at 18.9, beating draftee John Johnson by 1 .5 points. This matchup should be a good one, but I think Jordan will win this head-to-head competition.

The last matchup of the night should be awesome to see. Oden James, cousin of "King James", heads off to face the highest-leaping far-easterner this side of the hemisphere. Dante is one of the best in the league, and I think that with the practice from last round, should be able to shut down Prince James, and win this matchup.

2-2 TOURNEY

ROUND 2:

Mick Domas Jr. and Jason Parrott upset K-Mac and Ja Harvey, as they went one-'n-out. They will move on to face James Kidd and Mick Domas. In this intriguing matchup, their will be a father vs. son matchup. This should be one of the best matchups of the day, with Parrott and James being close to even, and Domas and Domas Jr. are about as close to even as possible. I think Kidd/Domas will move on, because the old man and Kidd are simply just a little bit better.

O'Reilly and Strong took down S-Mac and Haynesford down 22-20, to move onto Jordan and Drew Smith, who defeated their opponents, Reggie M. O'Neal and DA A.I. Kid just barely. Teammates Fred Strong and Pancho O'Reilly will team up to try and take down Drew Smith and Magic Jordan. Drew is a nasty point guard who can dish the ball very well, and Jordan should be able to light it up. However, I think that the teamwork of Fred Strong and Pancho O'Reilly will overcome these two.

Greg Kowalczyk and Drake Nolurskin absolutely dominated in their first matchup against rookies, J.T. Thunder and Michael Andersen Jr. They will move onto face Dante Robinson and Julius Smith. Greg and Drake are probably going to win it all, but I think that Dante and Julius will give them one hell of a fight. If Dante were paired up with a better player, he may have had a shot to take down these gargantuans, but I think Drake and Greg are too good for this tandem.

Teammates Dante Trinh and James Sircumalot Jr. surprised everyone by absolutely dominating Greg Ferrino and Dan Miller, 14-22. They face John Payton and Jake Martinez in the second round, who got past Colin Falls and Benji Taurasi just barely, 25-23, in the longest game of the evening. Dante Trinh and "Sircummy" absolutely dominated their opponents, and I think they can continue to play well in this next game. Jake Martinez will be dominate by Trinh or Sircumalot Jr., whichever one he faces, and I think he will lead to his and Payton's downfall.
