Hi!! My Name is Teresa and I am finally getting around to updating this page -- again! I am a $% year old single mom who is is a graduate student from Stockton College (Class of 1999) located in South Jersey! As for my family, I have 4 sons, ages 20, 22, 26 and 28 — two of which still live with good old ma! My oldest son and daughter in law have made me an extremely young "Nanny" of the most beautiful little angel in the universe!! Stephanie Jean --- my beauty queen is 7 years old now and is the center of my heart! I was blessed on August 31, 1999 with another beautiful grand daughter -- Cassidy Irene! In July of 001 I was once again blessed with another grand daughter -- Ashley Renee! I also have a very handsome grandson Michael and another baby to arrive in Sept. 2003! No one should be this lucky! I must have done something right in this world to be so blessed! Maybe I can get a tiny POW bracelet for my grandkids to wear and start their "activist" career off early like their "Nanny"!!! I belong to a very groovy church called "Clavary Chapel" in Hammonton, NJ. I have renewed my life with Jesus and I can not tell you how awesome our God is! ! ! He has belessed me more than I can ever write here and would love to tell you more about it! Just e-mail me if you want to know about that! I have received my BS in Social Work, and was fortunate enough to land my dream job at a terrific program called Veterans' Haven located in Winslow, NJ. This is a transitional housing program for homeless veterans. In regard to this program, if there are any veterans in need of a help up from their current situation, mainly homeless and seeking some help and guidence, please get in touch with me. You do not have to be a NJ resident but would need to come in for an interview and be willing to work. Our program is vocationally oriented and assist our veterans in finding gainful employment and higher education if they so desire. The basic requirements are that you must be an honorbly discharged veteran, employable, mentally and physically stable and have no pending criminal charges against you. Additionally you must be (and remain to be) drug and alcohol free and be willing to seek full time employment. It is a terrific program and has done so very much to help veterans get back on their feet. I have been involved in veterans affairs, mainly the POW-MIA (Prisoners of War/Missing in Action) since the summer of 1988 and have been a volunteer down by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., (not to be confused with the Vietnam Memorial in Vietnam) several times during the year. Although I no longer am affiliated with any one particular group in DC, you can always count on seeing me there during Veterans Weekend in November (I always celebrate my birthday there!) and Memorial Weekend in May! IN November I am usually hanging over on the Constintution Ave. side of the Wall and in May you can always find me on the hill near the Wall with the Vigil Society of Massachuttes. Just look for the 2 Beautiful, HUGE flags (American and POW flags)! They are a very wonderful group who have been loyal and true from day 1! Well, I don't know what more to say so I'll close for now! Any question, you can e-mail me at "thankavet@hotmail.com". I use this address more than angelfire because it's my work address --- am there more than home! Thank you for visiting my page (don't forget to sign in my guest book) and to all the veterans who are here ---- WELCOME HOME and THANK YOU!!!!!

Oh, and let me include a few very cool poems that my nephew Billy wrote. He is a very talented young man who has a lot of love and compassion for our veterans. He reminds me a lot of myself back in the day 00 a modern day hippie! Please read on:

ANOTHER NAME ON THE WALL

With its many calling names
Calling, calling out
Screaming pain!
Freedom fought in permute,
Many a man's demise.
Heroes defined by heroism's size
One's brother, father, and future friend
Lost by hate
On the walls their names, we liberate.
Fill me up with my freedom
I so often take for granted.
Love bestow to our vets begotten
Fear not of isolation
For you are not forgotten!
by Billy Smith Jr.

FIGHTING OUR BROTHERS

Side by side
Gun in our hand
Gone of innocence, left in the wind
Equal to dust
So coarse and dry
Letting their lives pass them by
Fighting for a mindless cause
Sticking our children in the devil's claws
War takes our young
And shatters their dream
Hopes and ambitions gone
Leaving family astray
Today's children outside to frolic....
Become tomorrow's woeful soldiers, to face the day.

POW-MIA
Sent out to die for our country
Men posted in the watchtowers
The smell of death
Bloodshed on god's eternal flowers
Blasting of gun's
Ringing in their ears
Sweat pours down
Soldiers show their fears
We're joined together
To embrace in the memory of America’s heroes
Everyone knows
But not to forget
In the past
The war is set
In remembrance of POW-MIAs
In our hearts
Here you stay.
