“The flaming liberals at the Boston Globe should be demanding the resignation of six Supreme Court justices who are enabling pedophilia,” said Fr. Tom Euteneuer, president of Human Life International, referring to the Supreme Court vote on Tuesday permitting virtual child pornography as an expression of free speech.

In one fell swoop the Court gave permission, over against the wishes of both the Congress and the American people, for the uninhibited dissemination of kiddie porn into American culture. At a time when Americans are demanding zero tolerance for the sexual exploitation of children, it is unconscionable that the highest court in the land should be giving a green light to this nation’s sickest individuals— child pornographers—and allowing them to create a cultural climate that will only encourage more pedophilia.
Virtual pornography has the same psychological impact on pedophiles as pornography made with real children. Because of its new legality and availability, it will lead to more victims. Currently, 19 states have laws against virtual child porn, but the decision by the Supreme Court has ignored the states laws and handicapped their efforts to prosecute the pornographers.

This decision should send chills down the spine of every parent and everyone fighting against pedophilia. It will be even more chilling if the media gives it a pass. “If the righteous anger of the liberal press can indignantly demand the resignation of church leaders who have been negligent in their duty to protect children,” stated Fr. Euteneuer, “then they must also demand the resignation of these legal authorities who have just put millions of children at greater risk of sexual exploitation.”

It’s time for the liberal press to be consistent. They must either demand the resignation of all who protect and encourage pedophiles or they should just get over their self-righteous campaign to demand the resignation of church leaders who have done the same. You can’t have it both ways. Pedophilia is a plague, and the Supreme Court has now unleashed another wave of that plague on our society.

If the editors of the Boston Globe do not demand the resignation of the six justices who have been negligent in their moral authority to protect children, then they are hypocrites and should resign themselves.
