RAC Running Club

NEWS-

THE TEAM WILL BE GETTING THEIR NEW UNIFORMS THIS MONDAY!THE NEW TEAM NAME IS STILL BEING WORKED ON. FEEL FREE TO DROP A SUGGESTION.

Welcome to the Web site of the RAC Running Club. The WOC is a small group of teenage runners who look to compete against older, and more "experienced" runners. We plan on hitting up the road races this summer and hopefully pulling a few Adrian Blincoes as we cross the line. The members of RAC were handpicked out of a vast pool of runners. These members are the best of the best at what they do. Lets meet them.

Anthony Arnold- a 4:29 miler and a 9:46 two miler. What more do we need to say. Those times strike fear in the eyes of 60 year old striders up and down the shore. Anthony hold the St.rose XC course record with a mind blowing time of 15:07. Double A also is a State Champion in XC. Hes gonna be all state next XC season and he'l be all world on the shore this summer. Anthony is a Junior at St.Rose and is 16. Anthony lives in Brielle. (6 feet. 140 pounds)

Ian Nolan- Doesnt do much as far as training is concered, but we think hes got raw talent and potential. A kid who can PR when you least expect it, Ian has a flare for the dramatic. A 4:45 miler, a 2:09.00 800 man and a 2:9:41 18 miler, he also holds one fourth of the St.Rose DMR record along with Lav and B-Rock. Ian holds a State Championship in Soccer. Look for him to have a break out summer with the help of his teamates.Ian is a 17 year old Junior at St.Rose. He lives in Bricktown. (5 feet 11 inches, 145 pounds).

Ryan Lavender-If we could sum of this runner in two words it would be "crafty veteran". Maybe a little past is prime, but his leadership qualities are great. At one time a state class runner, hes looking to gain a second wind this summer. Ryan is a 4 time State Champion and a 4 time all state Runner. A 4:09 1500, 4:28 miler,a sub 2 minute half miler and a 9:48 two miler, he currently runs for Rutgers, where he was named the schools Best Newcommer. Ryan is a 19 year old freshman who resides in Belmar.( 5 feet 8 inches, 130 pounds)

Brock Silvestri- Star. That sums up brock. He is a work horse and a freak of nature. a 4:25 miler and working on making the 2008 olympics in the 3,000 meter steeplchase, or the 5k. Brock has so many medals he could melt them and make a support column for a skyscraper. Not to mention several school records and State Titles. Currently on the DL with a stress fracture, he'l be out for a few weeks. Look for Brock to come back in a big way sometime around July. The ladies are counting down the days till' B-Rock once again tosses on the singlet. He runs for The University of Connecticut. Brock lives in Howell and is 19 years old.(5 feet 11 inches, 150 pounds)

Joe Stanziano-Sheer intimidation. At 6'2, 169 pounds you'd know if the Stanz was starting to catch up to you on the track. But with times like 4:28 in the mile, 2 flat in the 800,3:12 for the 1200, and 16:21 in the 5k; he wont ever be behind you. The stanz also brings ladies to their feet as he crosses the line. Joe Stanziano is comming to your towns pathetic 5k this summer, and if hes to injuried to pick up the gold medal, he might just pick up your girlfriend. Joe Attends Rutgers university. Joe is an 18 year old Freshman who lives in Barnagat.

Brian Stanziano-1:52 in the 800, a 3:53 in the 1500, 4:12 in the Mile and 26:10 in the 8k, the stanz is the centerpiece of the RAC. Brian has a key leadership role on the team, and brings years of experience at 21. Another role of Brain will be trying to tame his younger brother, Joe. Combine these two and you have 12 feet 5 inches and 339 pounds of speed. Brain will be the favorite in just about every road race he enters and is sure to represent the RAC well. Brian is the #1 runner at Rutgers Univeristy. He is 21 and lives in Barnegat. ( 6 feet 3 inches, 169 pounds).

Dave Hughson- a 1:55 high school half miler and a 4:12 miler from the great state of Mass. Dave also known as TD, brings another 6 feet 5 inches to the team. TD will be heading down to the shore this summer for the running and will greatly help out the WOC. TD is looking to improve for the upcomming Big East XC season, and making the UCONN track team. More info on TD to come soon.........
