We are the MetroStars or DC

Yes, the long awaited trade has finally happened. The MetroStars traded their fan favorite defender Mike Petke along with the fifth overall draft pick and an allocation for forward Jamie Moreno, midfielder Richie Williams, and defender Eddie Pope. This is Williams second stunt with the MetroStars. He was traded back to DC earlier this year.

Is this a good trade? Absolutely not! Not only did they trade Petke, they traded the fifth overall draft pick. It has been said that this year there will be a lot players with tremendous skill and potiential. So instead of having a young player learn his trade with the Metros, he will be doing it in DC. The allocation? Well we have Bob Bradley managing the team, so there was hope that he could of found a diamond in the rough, and brought him to the Metros. Unfortuantely, DC's Ray Hudson will be the guy looking for a player with great skill.

Yes, US International Eddie Pope, and Bolivian International Jamie Moreno were also included in the trade. Eddie Pope is a great defender, but only with the US National Team. He is constantly injured or participating with the Nats. Even though Moreno has a great history in MLS, he has yet to reach the form he had during DC's dynasty. He's always on the injured list, and doesn't play with the same grace he once did.
