A New a Tradition Begins. What does that mean? For starters, ex-Chicago Fire coach, Bob Bradley has joined the MetroStars coaching staff in place of Octavio Zambrano. Bradley who was an assistant coach for United during their glory years, joined the Fire in their inaugrial season, 1998. That season he won his first MLS Cup as a head coach, and is currently MLS's most winning coach. Bradley has also been an assistant to Bruce Arena with the US Men's National Tea. To aquire Bradley, the MetroStars had to trade Rodrigo Faira and 2004 draft pick.

"My family and I are thrilled to be coming home to New Jersey," said Bradley. "This is a tremendous opportunity, and I look forward to getting started as soon as possible."

"This is a special day for the MetroStars," said team President/General Manager Nick Sakiewicz. "Bob Bradley has established himself as the premier coach in MLS over the past five seasons, and we feel extremely proud and extremely fortunate to be able to bring him back home, to his New Jersey roots, to lead our team into a new era that we believe, now more than ever, includes an MLS Cup title."

Also including in the change were new logo and jerseys. The Metros decided as the plan to great a new tradition, they should drop their old logo, a electric 'M' with skyscrapers hovering above, for a more traditional look. The crest will feature four quadrints, the top left being a white star with a black backround, next it are red and black stripes that represent the team's colors, on the bottom left corner is an empty black quadrant, and next to that is a white soccer ball with a black background. In the center will be the electric MetroStars logo.

The new jersey will look similar to the design Nike has been using for the past year. The stripes will be thinner, and the MetroStars logo in the center will look a bit smaller. Rumor has it that the away kit will feature a gray jersey, with no stripes. Somewhat like the one Inter Milan of the Serie A sports currently.

Hopefully these new changes will lead to a championship the Metros have yet to challenge for.
