GAME SUMMMARY

September 22, 2002 (Metro Empire): Only needing one point, the MetroStars would have garenteed themselves a playoff spot. With luck, they had to play the Revolution, who they were 3-0 this season. Though, we are talking about the Metros, the team coached by Ocativo Zambrano. Mark Lisi was this game's suprise starter, inplace of rookie Jeff Moore.

The Revs got on the board first in the 4th minute penalty kick. Taylor Twellman was fouled by Mike Petke, and Twellman successfully converted the PK, even though Paul Grafer guessed to the correct side.

After that goal, everything went down hill. Wolde Harris scored a goal in the 27th minute. Grafer saved the initial shot, but Harris was there to rebound the ball. Harris scored again just minutes later.

Because the Burn lost to the Chicago Fire, the MetroStars are out of the playoffs. The Metros have made the playoffs 4 out of seven tries. The last time they failed to do so, was in 1999, when they finished last place with a 7-25 record.
