Mathis, Psychologist? Balboa, On the Roster?

September 18, 2002 (Metro Empire): Yes folks, what you read is true. Our super-star has accepted the advice of MetroStars coach Octavio Zambrano to go see a psychologist. OZ has stated that he agrees with what US's coach Bruce Arena argued about before the World Cup. Arena said Mathis has poor training skills, and doesn't get himself fit fast enough after an injury. Mathis said he agrees with the opinion of OZ, and might possibly visit a sports psychologist.

On to the good news. Marcelo Balboa has FINALLY come off the Injured Reserve list. He has missed out in every single MLS and US Open Cup game. He played in one friendly before he got injured.

Because of the red card to goalkeeper Tim Howard, the MetroStars have signed Jeff Cassear. Cassear has played for the Miami Fusion and the Dallas Burn. Before coming to the Metros, he was playing in the Premiership in England.
