This button is not listed by Albert. It is SC252 Am. 2. in Tice's Uniform Buttons book. Priced by Tice for $250 in 1997. Non dug gilted Civil War South Carolina state seal coat size button. The front features a Palmetto tree with crossed arrows. It is on a lined field with the state motto around it. The reverse has a depressed 1850's . SCOVILL MF'G CO . WATERBURY backmark. It is a button that was worn and the front has app. 75% gilt. There is a slight low spot to the right center of the palmetto. You can't see it in the pictures and it is hard to notice. It measures 3/4" in diameter. $135
