A brief biography of Jersey Calling

 

            Starting out strong in 2003 is Jersey Calling, a band hailing from Southern New Jersey, and looking to tour along the upper east coast this summer.  Having started the band as little ago as November, this pop/punk quartet has already recorded a full-length 10 song CD in January, and is ready to bring the South Jersey scene the attention that many record labels and elitists have ignored for years.  Their first release, “Hangups & Hangovers,” has already sold over 200 copies since its release in late May. 

            Having been in other bands prior to Jersey Calling, the band has five years of live experience to back up their show.  Their musical influences can be compared to bands such as Green Day, Alkaline Trio, Less Than Jake, Rancid, The Clash, and The Ramones, mixing the two worlds of old school punk rock and newer melodic pop punk riffs.  They are also a band for the fans, always sticking around to talk to loyal show-goers, and selling merchandise for bare minimum prices at shows.  Jersey Calling is truly a band that cares about the music, having a good time, and helping make the underground scene a continually growing success.
