I-66 connects the Delaware Bay to Sea Isle City. Nothing really exciting of note along I-66
through New Jersey.
Fictional I-66 would provide a non-stop route from Washington/Baltimore to Sea Isle City and
(coupled with fictional I-99) all other shore resorts. The currently existing routing
provides motorists several choices to Jersey Shore Resorts.
1) Drive to Lewes, and catch a ferry
2) Drive to just north of Newark, DE, cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge, and deal with
a bunch of lights on US-40 in New Jersey
3) Drive to PA, take the Commodore Barry Bridge, and deal with a bunch of lights and local
traffic on US-322 in New Jersey
4) Drive to Philadelphia, cross the Walt Whitman Bridge, then, come back south via NJ-42,
Atlantic City Expressway, and Garden State Parkway. This provides freeway service to
MOST shore resorts.
4B) Drive to Philadelphia, cross the Walt Whitman Bridge, then, come back south via NJ-42,
NJ-55, NJ-47, (US-9). US-9 routing not necessary for trips to Wildwood. NJ-47 also
has a bunch of lights from Port Elizabeth to Wildwood.
Option 4 is the best option if you want to stay away from traffic lights. Option 2 is best
for a straight run. My fictional I-66 is better than all of the above options.

fictional I-99
