Mississippi 666 starts out as a rural freeway, becomes urban as it runs through the city of Jackson, then goes back to being a rural freeway. About 15 miles later, it multiplexes with MS-18 (the only multiplex on the 1,104 mile journey) through Beinville National Forest. After leaving the forest and the multiplex, 666 continues as a rural freeway, serving DeSoto National Forest on its way to Alabama.
