nothing can replace
the pain in my heart
the smile that greeted me
after days spent apart
       the eyes that envied the skies
       that could search the soul
the mind that knew of
dreams untold
  the kindness, honesty
giving spirit that cared
the warm embrace that held me tight
when a storm left me scared
the ripped apart dreams
the shattered heart
how i have wished
that we never had to part
now you have your life
and i have mine
but deep down inside
my heart for you crys
