REFLECTIONS Ed Chenevey

Because of Memorial Day this becomes a short month. We had 13 members and one guest last month, not bad. Please try to get there on time since we can start early but we must finish before nine.

I saw Mike's Wright exhibit !in the Berlin Airlift C-54 at Morristown. The model which he had constructed is top notch as were the other displays of Wright stuff, early aircraft, and NJ firsts. You can see this at Millville on the 17 and 18th along with an airshow with the Blue Angels and the Snowbirds. This is also the weekend for the engine show at Bangor PA and the Warwick Fly-In on the 18th. I have seen a poster for an airshow at New Garden on June 1 and a South Jersey Fly - In is listed for June 6 and 7 at Rainbows End.

The latest issue of Popular Science has an excellent article on unmanned aircraft (UAVs) and a second one on Paul MacCreadyand his company.

“Priorities”

Spring is here in full force.  Every morning when I leave for work, I see a large crow digging up what is left of my front lawn.  I don’t need that reminder !that getting the grass to look better (or at least green) was near the top of my spring to do list.  My garage is a mess, the cars are dirty, and I usually leave several “to do’s” undone daily.

A couple of weeks ago, when we had a beautiful Sunday, the sky became a top priority.  With our latest statewide security rule that requires two locks on any airplane left for 24 hours or more, the quickest way for me to comply was to make the Cygnet un-airworthy by removing the prop.  That required reinstalling it before taking to the skies.  No big deal.  The wasp nests in the tail cone, on the other hand, required a trip to the store for some poison......

I now have two locks (prop and throttle), but time is still divided.  Can anyone recommend a landscaper so I can finish last years projects?
