Our Pets

All of us who are pet lovers have suffered the pain of the loss of a pet who was more like a member of the family. Paul has suffered the loss of several beloved pets starting with Bennie [Pug] in 1972 then Desiree [Poodle] in 1983, on to Belle [Siamese Cat] who was 17 years old in 1987. Belle was a member of the family from the time daughters Christine and Carolyn were like 2 and 1 years old and her loss was very hard on Paul, Barbara and the girls. Next was Chauncey [Bulldog] who had gone to live with Paul's cousin George in North Carolina in 1988.

Paul's 'little man' Duffy [Yorkie] was hit by a car in 1994, where the driver swerved to hit him and obviously did not stop. Finally we come to Samson [American Short Hair Cat]passed away in 2000, who was the most affectionate of cats, Sam was 12 when he passed away.

I just was told today about my friend Bob Wilgosz' loss of sweet little Sophie, on June 13, 2000, at only age 4, resulting from a collapsed wind pipe. Sophie and Paul's Baby Bear were sisters, one litter removed. Bob's grief is intense over her loss. Being that Sophie went to work [Bob's Fireside Shop] with Bob everyday, the two of them were virtually together 24 hours of everyday. Those of us who knew Sophie share along with Bob in her loss.

Paul's brother Ted and his wife Dawn experienced the loss of their best buddy Chief III, on January 7, 2001, their 8 1/2 year old male boxer. All of us who love and understand dogs share in their grief. Their female boxer Girl is at a total loss after losing her mate.
15January2001
Paul & Tori's good friends Jeff & Vicki experienced the loss of their beloved Jessie who was born on Halloween October 31, 1993. Jessie, their 10 1/2 year old female Yellow Lab, passed away August 2004. All of us who love and understand dogs share in their grief. Jessie was Beanie, Buttons and Bonzi's best friend and they miss her. Jessie was a wonderful dog and companion. One of the best is gone.
August 2004
Paul & Tori's good friend and next door neighbor Lynetta Githens lost of her beloved Ben who was born on July 24, 1996. Benny, a 9 year year old male Boxer mix, passed away April 24, 2004. We all share in Lynetta's grief over the loss of her friend and companion. Benny was Beanie, Buttons and Bonzi's friend and they miss her especially his girl friend Buttons.

Born: 1990 or before Crossed the Rainbow Bridge September 21, 2005
NAME: Mr. Bonzi (Thomas) McGoo
BREED: Shih-Tzu
Bonzi was found as a stray in Shamong in early January 2003. He was taken to the West Jersey Animal Shelter in Pennsauken, and was given the name Thomas which Paul and Tori changed to Bonzi after he was brought home. His previous owner failed to claim him. He was lucky enough to go to a foster home which provided much needed love for this sweet little guy. Paul read his up for adoption ad on Petfinder.com and in a matter of days Paul and Tori were approved as adoptive parents, on February 5, 2003. He adapted very well to his new home, his new brother Beanie and sister Buttons. He is a very quiet little man who is very well behaved. We will always remember the happiness and companionship that Bonzi provided us. His age was guessed at by 3 veterinarians in the spring of 2003 at 13 or older. Bonzi lived with Paul and Tori the final 33 months of his life. The old fellow was deaf, blind, and just grew old and failed. God bless you Bonzi, you are missed by Mommy and Daddy.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....(Author unknown)

BREED: Yorkshire Terrier
Beanie is a real love child, he entered my life only 6 weeks after Duffy so tragically passed over "The Rainbow Bridge". He is large as Yorkies go weighting a little over 14 pounds but his loving and devoted personality wins you over almost immediately. This big boy is definitely the boss of the house, and being a terrier his heritage really shows with his protection of home, yard and especially his toys and possessions. Mommy and Daddy will miss you so much. Thank you for all the good years together.
Beanie at 8 weeks old
Born: Dec. 3, 1997 crossed the rainbow bridge on May 28, 2010.
A.K.C. NAME: Miss Buttons and Bows McGoo
BREED: Shih-Tzu
Butts is as cute and as sweet as possibly a
dog could be. She has a very strong resemblance to Gizmo
from the movie Grimlins. Buttons doesn't seem
to be the smartest of dogs...in fact I don't feel
her elevator goes much above the first floor. But you have to love her. She has a funny habit of having to carry in her mouth her favorite squeak toy, a pink fabric covered bone, each time she goes outdoors. Another cute "trick" that Buttons does is do 360 turns both to the left and the right when she is going to be fed or getting a treat. No one taught her to do spins she just started doing them on her own when she was quite young. She is full of many cute quirky things that she does that all help to make her so endearing, no dog was cuter or sweeter than Buttons, gosh Mommy and Daddy miss so much.
Born: May 16, 1995
A.K.C. NAME: Miss Teddibear McGoo
BREED: Pomeranian
Baby Bear is the princess of the crew. She is 5 pounds of loveliness with a regal air exuding from her.
This little sweetheart spends most of her time with my Mom and Kenn (he passed away July 15, 2004) since Barbara passed away. They loved having her with them and she goes just about everywhere that they would go. Now my Mom and BabyBear are inseparable. She seems to have more of an understanding concerning events going on around her then any dog I've ever been around...OK shes smarter than the others.
BabyBear as a Holloween Pumpkin.
Born: 2002/2003
NAME: Mr. Charlie McGoo
BREED: Shih-Tzu
Charlie was found as a stray in Pennsauken in early August 2005. He was taken to the West Jersey Animal Shelter in Pennsauken but his owner failed to claim him. Paul and Tori were told about him being at the Shelter.
They went to visit him at the West Jersey Shelter on the evening of August 16th and made the adoption of Charlie that evening. Charlie is a small Shih Tzu weighing in at 6 lbs. - 6 ozs., white in color with dark grey markings. This guy is a little sweetheart, loved by everyone who meets him, it's so hard to try figuring out how his previous owner could have not tried to locate him.
Charlie was quickly excepted by his new brothers, Beanie and Bonzi, and sister, Buttons. He was taken two days later to the Evesham Veterinary Clinic and was checked out and given his shots by Dr. Christopher Reitts. On September 1 he again visited the Clinic to be neutered.
Born: April 7, 2007
A.K.C. NAME: Yobi
BREED: Yorkshire Terrier and Bichon-Frise
Yobi is a mutt, a mix of Yorkie and Bichon, today they call her a desizner mix. The results are very cute at 6 months + she weighs about 4 and 1/2 pounds. Her adult size is slightly less than 8 pounds. Her color now is, as Tori says, toasted coconut, as an adult she is off white. Pictures as adults of her mix look much lighter the way she has grown up to be. We purchased Yobi in Berlin - Ohio from the Yoder family. We came home with her on September 16, 2007. She has seen our vet, Dr. Dailey and been given her shots to be up to date. She also went to the animal clinic to be spayed on October 17th. Yobi gets along well with her brothers and sisters. We are very happy having her as our baby.
