"But you can't leave Brian!" The 10-year-old girl tugged on her big brother's shirt. "You have to stay here and play with me!"

Brian smiled down on his younger sister as he packed his suitcase. "I gotta go Shorty, I could make it big!"

"I don't care. Stay here with me and Mommy and Daddy!"

"I wish I could Cara, but this is my dream! I have to go."

Cara's eyes filled with tears. "You don't love me."

Brian sighed. "I love you very much Cara, but if I don't go to Florida and sing for cousin Kevin's music group I might never make it big."

"You can sing for me," Cara said softly, tears cascading down her cheeks. "I love the way you sing."

"I know, and I'll always sing for you." He rumpled her already messy auburn hair.

"Brian!" His father entered the room. "You ready to go son?"

Brian took one final look at his room. "Yup." He bent down and gave Cara a hug and kiss on the cheek. "Bye Shorty. The next time you see me I might be famous."

"Remember Brian, I love you." Cara wiped away her tears. "I'm gonna miss you so much."

Brian smiled. "I'll miss you too."

Cara started crying again as she watched Brian pull out of the driveway and temporarily out of her life.

Two Years Later...

"Mommy, why do we have to move?" The now 12-year-old girl asked her mother as she loaded the family car with boxes. "I don't wanna leave Kentucky!"

"We have to Cara, Daddy got transferred to New York. We're going to live in a nice, big house in New Jersey."

"But I like it here Mommy! I have lots of friends!"

Jackie smiled at her daughter. "You'll make lots of nice friends in New Jersey honey."

"But none of them will know I'm Brian's sister!" The little girl declared. "Nope, no one. I want real friends, not fake ones."

"That's a good plan sweetheart. Now take one last look at the house!" Jackie helped Cara climb in the car around the boxes and then she and her husband Harold got in.

Cara sighed as they pulled away from their house and drove away to start a brand new life in New Jersey.

"No one will ever know," she mumbled as she drifted off to sleep.
