AJ smiled. "Hey Cara. Can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Sure." We went out into a hallway.
"Cara, I was kinda wondering....would you go out with me?"
I stood there in shock. "But AJ, I'm barely 16 and you're 21. That doesn't worry you?"
"Age is just a number Cara, it doesn't bother me at all. So what do you say?"
"Yes!" I gave him a hug. "But what will Brian say?"
AJ smiled. "I'm sure he'll be fine with it."
"YOU'RE WHAT?!" Brian screamed.
"I'm going out with AJ. Jeez, what's your problem?"
"My problem? My problem is my 16-year-old sister is going out with one of my best friends who's 21!"
"Brian, calm down," Kevin said. "I'm sure AJ will take good care of Cara. And if not, we'll beat the shit out of him."
"See, Kevin's fine with it," I said. "Why can't you ever be supportive?"
"I'm supportive! I'm just not supportive of things that are gonna end up hurting you. Not to mention me when mom and dad find out."
I rolled my eyes. "You're overreacting Bri. Nothing's going to happen."
Brian sighed. "Okay. But if he hurts you in any way..."
I gave Brian a hug. "You're the best!"
Brian grinned. "I know."
"YOU'RE WHAT?!" Charisma screamed.
"God, what is up with everyone today? So I'm going out with AJ, what's the big deal?" I asked.
"Sorry, I was kinda shocked, that's all. Oh man, Kristen is gonna kill you!"
"Kristen as in Kristen our friend from school?( See, I told you Kristen!)?"
"Yeah, her favorite is AJ. Ooh, I'd hate to be you when she finds out!"
I shrugged. "Oh well. She'll understand. She'll be slightly pissed, but understanding at least. I hope."
Charisma laughed. "Do you know how hot Nick Carter is in person? I mean, he looks damm good on TV, but in person oh my God!"
I giggled. "Yeah, I know. They all look good, with the exception of Brian. I have no idea what the hell Backstreet fans see in him. He's so damn annoying!"
"We like him because he's got an adorable face! And his eyes are gorgeous! So tell me all the dirt on the Backstreet Boys, who really has a girlfriend?"
"AJ, of course." I grinned. "Brian is definitely going out with Leigh Anne. I love her, she has to be the nicest person I've ever met. Kevin used to have a girlfriend, but not anymore I don't think, and Howie and Nick are definitely single."
"Okay, what else? Do they do anything weird? Like, does Howie sleep with his eyes open or something like that?"
I shook my head. "Nothing that I know of. But when he was younger, Kevin used to love Legos. He must've had every set cause some of the stuff he built was really big. I remember one time that I knocked over this tower he had been working on, and I blamed it on Brian. It was so funny, he made Brian rebuild the entire thing!"
"That's not weird. Think of something else."
I threw a pillow at Charisma. "There isn't anything else. I was only on tour with them last summer, but they all acted perfectly normal."
"So that's where you were last summer? I thought you said you were going to Canada?"
"Well, that was partly true. We were in Canada some of the time."
"Oh. So what's it like being Brian's sister?"
"What is up with all the questions?"
Charisma shrugged. "Just getting you used to them. They're something you're gonna be hearing for a long time."
"That's what I'm afraid of," I sighed.
