Amanda and AJ were still going out but were growing apart. Stephanie and AJ were getting closer and were hanging out more.
AJ and Amanda went to the mall. They were walking through the mall hand-in-hand when AJ stopped and let go of her hand.
"What's the matter?" Amanda asked.
AJ looked at the ground and then said, "I think we should see other people." "Wait. Why?" Amanda said confused because she didn't understand what just happened. "I'm in love with somebody else." "How could you do this to me?"
Amanda walked away with tears in her eyes, not waiting for an answer. AJ watched her leave without running after her. After awhile, he walked out into the parking lot, got in the car, and drove away.
She walked out into the parking lot and sat down on the curb of the sidewalk. She took out her cell phone from her purse and called Stephanie. The phone kept ringing and ringing and after awhile the answering machine came on. Amanda hung up the phone and then remembered that Stephanie was baby-sitting Aaron and Angel again. She dialed Stephanie's cell phone number.
"Hello?" Stephanie said. "Steph?" "Yeah?" "Could you come pick me up at the mall?" "Why? Where's AJ? Are you crying?"
As Stephanie said that, Amanda burst out into tears.
"Could you come and pick me up? Please?" "I was just about to take Aaron and Angel to the movies." "Well, pick me up at the mall and then take them to the movies." "Fine but where is AJ?" "He dumped me. He said he was in love with somebody else."
Stephanie smiled to herself.
"Steph? Are you still there?" Amanda asked. "Yeah. Sorry. Sure. I'll pick you up. Do you want to go to the movies with us?" "Sure. I guess so. If you don't mind." "No. I'll c-ya in a little bit." "Ok. Bye." "Bye."
Stephanie hung up the hone and then her, Aaron and Angel left.
