Amanda and AJ were sitting on the couch watching TV when the phone rang.
"Hello?" Amanda said. "Hey. It's Stephanie." "Stephanie? Where are you?"
At the sound of Stephanie's name, AJ turned and looked at Amanda.
"I'm at Meg's house." Stephanie said. "Why did you leave?" "Cause I felt like it." "No. Really why did you leave?" "Cause of your boyfriend." "AJ? Why?" "It's a long story. I'm just calling you to tell you that I'm on my way home now and because knowing you your probably worried about me." "Yeah. Me and AJ are worried."
A smile crossed Stephanie's face.
"Tell AJ I'm badly hurt." Stephanie said. "Why?" Amanda asked. "Just do it." "Ok."
Amanda pulled the phone from her ear and turned to AJ.
"Stephanie says that she is badly hurt." Amanda said.
AJ just looked at the floor and Amanda got back on the phone.
"Why did I just do that?" Amanda asked. "Revenge." "Why?" "He cheated on me." "With who?" "You are so dense." "Why am I dense?" "AJ was my boyfriend." "Oh. Um. I had no idea." "Amanda, you've been my best friend since 7th grade and don't you remember who I went out with in high school and then he left." "This is that AJ?" "Yeah, Amanda. Where have you been?" "I don't know. Do you mind if I still date him?" "I guess not but it's not my choice."
Little did Stephanie know that she still had strong feelings for AJ.
"Ok." Amanda said. "Well, I'll be home in a couple of minutes." "Ok. C-ya then." "Bye."
Amanda hung up the phone and looked over to her side to find AJ gone.
