"AJ?!" Brian screamed as he walked through the door.
No answer.
Brian walked up the stairs and down the hall to AJ's room. AJ was laying on his bed fast asleep with a picture next to him. The picture was of AJ and some girl. Brian didn't think twice about it and went back downstairs and watched TV. <>
Stephanie walked inside and put her purse down on the kitchen table. Then she went over to the answering machine and pushed play. She had one message. It said:
"Hi, Stephanie. It's your aunt. I need a favor. Please call me back when you get in. Thanks. Bye."
Stephanie picked up the phone and was about to dial when the front door opened.
"Steph?!" Amanda screamed at the top of her lungs.
Stephanie had been standing in the doorway on the side of Amanda.
"You don't have to make me go deaf. I'm standing right here." Stephanie said.
Amanda looked at her.
"Oh. Sorry. Guess what?!" Amanda said. "Ohmigod what?!" "Funny. You'll never believe who I saw!" "Ohmigod who?!" "Will you stop with the ohmigods and AJ. He was at the mall and he is looking fine." "I'm supposed to care, why? He's the one who never called." "Cause I know that you still have feelings for him." "Um, like no I don't."
Stephanie walked into the kitchen and dialed the phone.
"Hello?" her aunt said. "Hey. It's Stephanie. You said you needed a favor?!" "Yeah. My friend needs a baby-sitter tonight for her two kids and she can't find anybody. I was wondering if you would help her out?" "Yeah, sure."
Stephanie's aunt gave her directions to the house and told her to be there by 7:00.
'Ring, ring.'
Brian reached over to the table and picked up the phone.
"Hello?" he said. "Hey, Bri. It's Nick. Whatcha doin?" "Talking to you." "No. Really?" "Yeah. Really?" "Ok. Me, Howie, and Kev want to know if you and AJ want to go clubbing later?" "Yeah, I guess I will but I don't know about AJ so hold on a minute?!" "Ok."
Brian put down the phone and then walked upstairs to AJ's room. When he got there, AJ wasn't there.
"AJ?" Brian said.
No answer.
'I wonder where he went.' Brian thought.
Brian walked over to the bed and picked up the frame off the bed. He looked at it very closely.
'Wow! That girl was just here.' he thought.
He then heard footsteps coming up the stairs. He put the picture back down on the bed and AJ walked into the room.
"You ewre calling me?" AJ asked. "Yeah. Do you want to go clubbing with me and the guys tonight?" Brian said. "Yeah. I guess so." "Ok."
Brian went back downstairs and picked up the phone.
"Hello?" he said. "It's about time. So?" "Well, I couldn't find him and yeah AJ'll go too." "Ok." "Didn't you have to watch AC and Angel tonight?" "Mom got a baby-sitter. Ok. We'll pick you up around 7." "Ok. See ya then." "Later."
Brian hung up the phone and went back to watching TV.
