Chapter 1

AJ was 15 and in tenth grade.

AJ was walking through the hall of the high school he attends. He came to his girlfriend, Stephanie's, locker where she was standing with a couple of her friends. He walked over to her

"Hey, Steph." AJ said. "Hey, AJ."

Stephanie closed her locker and her and AJ went to AJ's locker. Then they left to walk home. While walking home, Stephanie asked, "Are you busy today?"

"Yeah." AJ said. "Auditions?" "Yeah."

Stephanie sighed.

"What's the matter?" AJ asked. "Your never around after school anymore." "Well, sorry." "Sure you are."

They walked up to Stephanie's house. Stephanie gave AJ a hug and said, "I'll talk to ya later."

She walked away and AJ continued walking home.

It's around the middle to the end of June 1993.

AJ had just gotten a phone call. He has been picked to join a all boy band and he was now on his way over to Stephanie's house.

When he got o her house, he went up to the door and rang the doorbell. Stephanie came to the door a couple minutes later.

"AJ?! What are you doing here? I thought you had auditions." she said. "That's why I'm here." "I didn't know that there were auditions at my house." "No. I've been picked to be in a boy band." "That's great. I think. Do you want to come in?" "I can't. I have to go home and pack." "Why when are you leaving?" "Tomorrow." "Oh."

Silence came over them.

"Well, I got to go. I just wanted to come by and see you before I left."

Stephanie's eyes began to water and she was holding back tears.

"Are you going to call and write?" Stephanie asked. "Yeah. Whenever I get a chance." "Ok. I guess this is goodbye." "Yeah. I guess so."

AJ hugged her and they stood there hugging for what seemed like a eternity.

"Well, I gotta go." AJ said. "Bye."

Stephanie tried to smile but she couldn't. She hurt too much. She was loosing her boyfriend who she probably wouldn't see again. AJ walked back to his house and Stephanie went back inside.
