Superman: Ride of Steel will be part of a four year, $100 million renovation of Six Flags New England, formally known as Riverside Park. This Intamin hypercoaster will dive 221 feet into an underground tunnel traveling at 80mph. The ride will take approximately 2 1/2 minutes and the track will be almost one mile long.
Superman: Ride of Steel isn't the only new attraction for Six Flags New England. They will be getting a Vekoma Boomerang coaster that is being transported from Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. This coaster used to be called Vampire but will be re-named Flashback. Riversides' 20-story S&S sports tower called the Hellevator will get a makeover and will be re-named Scream!. A family coaster called Poison Ivy's Twisted Train will also be added.
Six Flags New England will recieve extensive theming based around the DC Comics superheroes. Such theming will be used for new restaurants, stores, and of course, rides.
