Next year the Myrtle Beach Pavillion in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina will be getting a Custom Coasters woodie named the Hurricane. It will cost somewhere between 5 and 6 million dollars.
Once you reach the top of the Hurricanes 110 foot lift hill you will go down a 53 degree drop reaching a speed of 55mph. After the drop you will encounter many hills and turns including a 594 degree helix and a 720 degree helix. A ride on the Hurricane will take 2 minutes after traveling on its 3800 foot track. There will be two six-car trains made by Gerstlauer Trains operating on the Hurricane.

The Myrtle Beach Pavillion sold its old corkscrew coaster to make room for the Hurricane. A company called Grupo Magico from Mexico bought the Corkscrew and will be installing it in a park in Columbia, South America.
The Hurricane is scheduled to open in April 2000. To find out more on the Myrtle Beach Pavillion visit their Official Web Site.
