During the second act, Jellylorum and Gus sing about his triumphs on the stage. After a while, Gus mentions how he once played Growltiger and could do it again. The stage transforms into a pirate ship with a few of the males as the crew and Gus as the lively, pompous Growltiger. Jellylorum soon appears in a fluffy white costume as Griddlebone. Growltiger is smitten with her and they appear to fall in love. Growltiger appears to be a very 'macho' kind of tom and likes to show off a lot. Griddlebone is a very sexy white persian who knows how to handle the males. About halfway through the song, after their Italian opera bit, the Siamese attack the ship, led by Ghengis, and Griddlebone disappears. It is rumored that Griddlebone works for Macavity, though whether she had any hand in his death by the Siamese is unknown.
