TREAT PEOPLE NOT AS THEY ARE, BUT AS YOU WISH THEY WERE

A message from a preacher - Bob Gass:
At lunch, a man said to his fellow worker, " I can't believe it!
Baloney again! I'm sick of baloney. "His friend said, "Take it easy! Why don't
you just tell your wife you don't like baloney and ask her to make you something
different?" The first guy replied, "What are you talking about? I don't have a
wife. I make my own lunch!"
Think about it. If there's a lot of baloney in your life today, guess
who put it there? What you sow, you reap. (Galatians 6:7)
Listen to Paul: Don't merely look out for your own personal interests,
but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in
Christ" (Philippians 2:4-5). Hows you attitude toward others? Remember the elder
brother in the parable of the prodigal son? He wanted the privilege of being a son, but
not the obligation of being a brother. Until you learn to love your brother, you'll always
have a strained relationship with your father. The elder brother had no idea why his
father would rejoice over his brother's return, and until you can celebrate God's blessing
in somebody else's life - your future is "on hold." Ask God to reveal any wrong
attitudes in your life today. Treat people not as they are, but as you wish they were.
