"Hey Casey, guess what!?" Tay asked his friend excitedly.
"What Tay?" Ever since Casey moved from Tulsa to New York, she called him whenever she could, usually once a week, because of the long distance bill.
"We got a record deal! We finally got signed!"
"You're kidding!" Casey screamed.
"Nope, with Mercury!"
"That's awesome! I told you that you'd become famous one day!"
"I can't wait, this is the best!"
"Oh my god, I can't wait! I'll make sure I buy your CD." Casey teased him.
"Good, Casey..." he shot back. "I can't believe this...Yeah Dad?...Casey, I have to go. I'll call you whenever I can."
"Bye, Tay!" Casey yelled into the phone as he hung up. She was so excited for him and his brothers. This was always what they had wanted to do in life, and finally they had achieved it. She also knew how hard it must have been to be turned down by some major labels before. Tay had called her each and every one of those times sounding sadder than she had ever heard him in her life. But finally they had gotten their big break. Casey had a feeling that it would all work out great for them.
"Casey, Casey!" Casey's friend Jessie yelled, runnig towards her. You know rist?"
"Yeah." Casey answered, "Why?"
"Well, anyway, are you going to her party tonight?"
"I guess." Casey shrugged.
The bell rang loudly. "Casey, pick you up at 7," Jessie said, running down the hallway. Casey walked to her science class and opened the door.
"Casey!" her teacher Mrs. Smith yelled, "Why are you late again!?"
"I was busy!" Casey shot back, and walked towards her seat.
"Casey," the teacher warned, "See me after class." Casey shrugged. Science was her least favorite class. Slowly, 40 minutes passed by until the bell rang. "Casey, this is going too far. You're never on time for class, and your grades are falling rapidly. I'm going to have to have a talk with your parents."
"Fine." Casey answered. "I really don't care!" Casey got up and walked towards the door.
"Casey!" the teacher called. Casey just slammed the door.
"Casey!" her mother warned her as she walked in the door.
"Hi mom!" Casey chirped.
"Your science teacher called-"
"I told you mom! I should have stayed in Tulsa! If I stayed with Taylor I would have been fine!" Casey yelled. "When are we going back to Tulsa?! It's been a few years already! I haven't seen Taylor in 4 years! You lied to me! Why?!" Casey demanded.
"Casey-" her mother pleaded. "Your father's job took longer than we expected, Casey, it was 4 years ago, don't dwell-"
"Mom!" Casey screamed. "4 years is a long time not to see someone that you've seen every day for 10 years!" Casey stormed up to her room and loudly slammed the door.
"Mom," Casey asked that night at dinner, "I was wondering, uh...Kristi's having an, um...party tonight, and I was wondering if I could maybe go?" Casey's mom sighed, knowing that if she didn't let her go, she would never hear the end of it from Casey or her husband.
"I guess so Casey, but first I have to tell you something."
"What?" Casey asked happily.
"I called Mrs. Hanson the other day, and, next month, right after school ends, she said you could stay there for a few weeks to see Taylor."
"Oh my god!" Casey screamed. "You mean, I'm gonna go back to Tulsa for a while to see Taylor?! Yes!!"
"I knew you'd be happy." Jaime Macaluso smiled.
"Thank you sooo much mom!" Casey ran over to her mother and gave her a huge hug. "Does Taylor know I'm coming?"
"Nope, Diana agreed thaat it would be best if you told him."
"Oh my God, I'll call him tomorrow morning. Yes!!" Outside, a car horn honked. "Bye, mom, I gotta go, Jessie's here!"
"Bye, Casey!" her mom called as she ran out to the car.
