LEGENDARY RSM DRUMMER & FRIEND MARK CUDNIK PASSED AWAY AT 1AM THIS MORNING, MONDAY NOVEMBER 13, 2006 IN NASHVILLE TN, FROM A STAPH INFECTION IN THE LUNGS AS A POSSIBLE RESULT OF COMPLICATIONS AFTER BY-PASS HEART SURGERY LAST MONTH. HE WAS ONLY 57.

MOORE ORIGINALLY MET MARK DURING 1975 IN BILLY ANDERSON'S LOUNGE BAND, WHICH WOULD EVENTUALLY BECOME THE SWINGS.  CUD SUBSEQUENTLY APPEARED ON NUMEROUS CRUCIAL RSM RECORDINGS BY WAY OF COUNTLESS MAILED DRUMTRACKS OVER THE YEARS, NOTABLY SWING AND A MISS, COOL DADDIO, DELICATE TENSION album, PUTTIN UP THE GROCERIES, NEW JERSEY GAMES, HOPPER album, PART OF THE PROBLEM, U.R. TRUE, CLACK album, SAY MAN, SIGNAL, ALECIA, POP-ROCK LOGIC AND MANY MANY OTHER STUNNERS.

A BUSDRIVER BY TRADE, MC HAD ACTUALLY CUT A WHOLE NEW CDR OF SIZZLING HI-FI RHYTHMS FOR RSM IN JULY2006 AT ROGER FERGUSON'S HOME STUDIO.

RF adds: raised in cleveland. kind of a greaser in high school. ran with several guys who wore coats and ties to school, and combed their hair like 50s elvis. was picked on quite a bit because of that. [all according to his sis at the funeral home.] bonnie nelson has some drum tracks of mark if you can find her. played a tape of a great solo at his funeral! no recently taped rehearsals here, sorry. family was russian/catholic. pronounced syood-nik originally. loved chocolate and raspberries, and golf. every tuesday night, he went downtown and cooked for the homeless. sharp dresser and a clean freak to the end.
